Description
The Espresso Parisi Blend was carefully roasted for you by Parisi Artisan Coffee. In the demitasse, you'll be greeted with milk chocolate sweetness, notes of hazelnut and almonds, soft mandarin orange-like acidity and a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Together with milk, expect hints of vanilla and caramel sweetness.

Amy
Didn’t like the flavor profile.
3/12/2023

Jessica
3.5/5. Decent overall flavor.
3/12/2023

Caroline
It was fine, but didn't feel like it had a particularly standout flavor - was kind of a typical espresso but felt a little harsh rather than getting much of the slight sweetness suggested in the profile.
3/8/2023

Michael
Really nice dark and complex flavors, tons of crema and silky body. Yum!
3/2/2023

Curtis
Could not bring out much flavor with these beans. Tried both methods with flow control (for light and dark) — neither way was it very good.
2/14/2023

George
Good but not as deep as the Coava S.O.
2/14/2023

Rami
Good body but very bitter and not enough sweetness
1/20/2023

Christopher
Good but not a little bland. Balanced but too sweet for me.
1/20/2023

Robert
a bit acidic, thin mouthfeel
1/19/2023

Kevin
A tad too bitter, but otherwise not bad.
1/1/2023

Carlos
Super smooth and consistent, soft and easy grind,
20g in a 20g basket
1:2
40g of espresso
30s
Was super easy to dial in!!

Fabiola
Very nice coffee. Not bitter. Smooth. Very much enjoyed this one.
12/22/2022

Henry
Feels more bitter than previous brands
12/11/2022

Christie
I liked it! It was nutty, earthy yet sweet, and smooth.
9/16/2022

angela
Not as full bodied as I like. Espresso has a touch too much acid or im having difficulty dialing it in. Alight melon notes, which is nice. Chocolate but more of a milk chocolate rather than dark, my preference.
4/29/2021

Josh
Too dark and oily. Did not taste good
1/2/2021

Robert
Too dark
12/22/2019

Brian
quite good. enjoyed this one.

Alexander
On the lower end of three stars. Drinkable for sure.

Rick
First sniff: The smell when I opened the bag was a slight cocoa and almond note. It wasnt overwhelming at all. I do want to point out I didnt see a "roasted on" date anywhere on the bag.

First cup: This coffee made a dark espresso and it had a great crema. I had to mess with my grind settings to get it just right. I got a mild cocoa/chocolate note with very little else certainly not a hazlenut or soft manadarin orange like the tasting notes mentioned. The first taste of the espresso was... underwhelming. I added some half and half and stevia as a long black hoping additional nuances would come out but other than a super light caramel (almost non-existent) nothing else really came forward. I didnt really get any hints of vanilla (which I was truly hoping for) or much else. The coffee didnt have a "punch" either that I was hoping for from a bit of a darker blend.

I was really hoping for more from this blend but it truly left me feeling underwhelmed and, honestly, I discarded the last two espresso shots worth of beans because it was just that underwhelming and I wanted to try my next bag which had arrived yesterday.

Quite disappointing indeed.

Kate
A great espresso.
3/3/2018

Bayan
Liked the nutty flavor
1/24/2018

Robert
Too acidic
1/24/2018

Peter
Good tasting. A little light weight from what we were hoping for. Not quite as deep rich as we we're looking for. Nice. Good quality. Nutty taste. Very faint chocolate note. We Haro hand expresso grind and Aero Press one cup at a time.
1/22/2018

Alex and Rachel
I did not prefer this coffee. It tasted to me like a good Folgers coffee. I tried it as both coffee and espresso and neither one did I enjoy.
1/22/2018

Ben
Great flavor profile when making espresso. Couldn't get quite the same flavor out of the drip, but overall I've enjoyed making espresso or americanos from this coffee.
1/20/2018

Scott
The Parisi Artisan beans have been very nice. Good start! Here are some raw notes for you:

• Great color to the roast & nice aroma to the beans
• Little too burnt tasting at times, but solid full flavor
• Good body/balance, but would like to see a little more fruit or chocolate or sweeter taste
• Maybe something a little smoother & lighter in taste too, but good full balanced flavor would be nice
• Would like something versatile, I like espressos, but wife likes cappuccinos & lattes, as do I at times

Thanks so much, really enjoying this & super excited for the next selection & trying something new again! 
1/18/2018

Scott
This coffee had low acidity, was well balanced, very smooth, excellent crema. The coffee had a unique flavor highlighted by the subtle tones in it. Overall our family loved the espresso made from this coffee.
1/13/2018

Jason
I really enjoyed that this seemed to lack the bitterness of many of the other espressos I have tried however overall it seems a little flat. Not weak, but flat.
1/10/2018

Jeremy
Pretty good. Not a lot of bold flavors.
1/3/2018

Manuel
It was pretty balanced, but we've now learned we're not big fans of citrus-y notes in our coffee.
12/2/2017

Jayne
Smooth and well rounded. I could go bolder, though, if the smoothness is there.
6/9/2017

Ted
this was a bit weak in both espresso and drip form - flavors are well balanced, just not as strong overall as most of the others.
5/4/2017

Patrick
I love the versatility of this coffee. Even has the instructions on the bag for several different brewing options. Moka Pot was a success, going to give it a try in the Chemex next.
4/11/2017

Aly
I felt this coffee blend was a bit light in flavor. Nuttier notes were more dominant in what flavor was present with a very very subtle chocolate mixed in as well. Did not like it as much as a stand alone shot, was okay as a latte.
1/30/2017

Gregory
I drink my coffee black. I thought that my second cup was a "little" bitter. My wife uses Coffee Mate and said it was delicious. Good coffee.
1/24/2017

Derek
This one was a little nutty for my taste, it left an aftertaste that was a bit heavier than I wanted.
1/23/2017

Aaron
Coffee had some nice chocolate notes, but it didn't strike me as bold. I typically make lattes and combined with the milk the coffee didn't perhaps pair as well.
1/16/2017

John and Sara
A little too much chocolate for me, and sort of a weak aftertaste.
1/14/2017

David
This is not a great coffee. We tend to go for stronger coffees, and this definitely reads on the weaker end of the spectrum.
1/11/2017

Eric
When I received this shipment I panicked as it stated "dark" roast and I am not a fan of dark roasts. Upon opening the packet and looking at the beans a sigh of relief as they were medium roasted! After reading the reviews on this coffee, it looks like roasting has been inconsistent, but lucky for me.

Taste - it's okay for a single espresso. A hint of nut but that is all. Smooth and not acidic. A bit too light for a macchiato or small latte. Great for cone drip. A nice gentle coffee.
1/2/2017

David
Though package indicated dark roast, this was more towards medium. I have espresso everyday and this coffe, while drinkable was not as rich as the Portofino Espresso blend I have roasted by Passport Coffee in Scottsdale at a substantially lower cost per pound. The beans were toward a dryer roast which took me several grinder and tamping adjustments to get a true 30 second shot.
1/2/2017

Stephanie
This roast is darker than we typically like, so please keep that in mind when reading our feedback. This coffee was definitely bold, to the point of tasting bitter. We also tasted fruity undertones -- all in all, a very strange roast, not suited to our taste or specific brewing method (French press).
12/5/2016

Rose
Did not care for this coffee. Tasted dark, dusty
12/4/2016

Jared
Had an acidic-like flavor that was too overbearing too me. Might suit others, but not my cup of coffee.
11/22/2016

Shaun
Pretty good, a little darker than prime
11/21/2016

Kevin
Smooth, medium Roast, light nut and fruit flavors. Great tasting coffee
10/4/2016

Jeff
Very smooth flavor and was able to quickly dial in to my liking. Enjoying the chocolate tones and does indeed pair excellently with milk in a latte.
9/26/2016

Sarah
Delicious, nice toffee and chocolate flavors with a dry finish. Worked well as a cappuccino or an espresso.
9/19/2016

Dmitrii
great with milk but not the best option for espresso
9/14/2016

Erika
We do not like dark roasts. Not enjoyable.
9/4/2016

Cristin
Yuck. Thin, very sour fruit-like flavor. I got no chocolate or nut flavors out of this at all, really all I got was the taste of an under-roasted bean. How this is considered by Parisi to be a dark roast or an espresso roast is beyond me, it is neither. The appearance of the bean is nicely uniformly chestnut colored but the taste is very distinctly of a blonde roast, but just barely. I'm extremely disappointed in this offering.
8/31/2016

Megan
It's not a bad first coffee. It has some body to it that I enjoy, but not a whole lot of flavor. Not bad overall though, I enjoy it.
7/18/2016

Jason
Delicious
7/10/2016

Andrew
I don't have a Moka pot for optimal brewing, but as a pour over I found this to be a good, well balanced coffee. No off putting tasting notes here. Very good.
7/5/2016

Jayson
Good coffee. I really enjoyed making it my vacuum siphon coffee maker.
6/13/2016

Jose
Felt that it has a bold smell but a lighter taste not really a dark roast but a medium for me
5/23/2016

Chris
Did not particularly care for this offering. The beans arrived bone dry (which is not necessarily a problem in and of itself), but they were also a very light brown color. I would hesitate to even call them a true medium roast, much less a dark roast. They were borderline light-medium, in my personal opinion. Mouthfeel and taste were very vegetal, almost reminiscent of tobacco. Adding cream helped bring out some sweetness, but then it was almost like drinking a slightly sweet cigar. Not my favorite, by any stretch.
5/16/2016

William
Damn good coffee!!! I don't generally go for espresso blends, but this one is an exception.
5/6/2016

Samson
The roast was to my liking. Dark in appearance but not oily. However, the beans are quite acidic. This may be due to improper brew technique, but I tried changing the grind size and higher temperature. Nothing seems to mellow out the acidity.

I found it pretty decent in short lattes though as the milk mellows out the acidity.
5/4/2016

Fernando
While we usually don't drink darker roasts, this coffee was a welcome surprise. Goes down smoothly and not bitter.
4/29/2016

Sandra
This was a surprise. First, because I avoid chocolate flavored coffees and thought I indicated that on my misto profile. Nevertheless, I kept it and when opening the package, I was surprised by the absence of any "ahh" opening aroma. Nevertheless, I ground a batch and brewed a pot. I was surprised by the smoothness and lack of bitter aftertaste. Do I like chocolate, nutty flavors? Will I reorder it? I need a few more trials, but the fact that I haven't already given it away is a positive comment.
4/21/2016

Andrew
Beans were ground on the spot and dialed in for espresso. The taste was quite flat. I did not find this blend to be particularly complex or distinct. There is a possibility that the beans were not freshly roasted, as there was close to zero unground aroma, no roast date on the bag (only an expiration in 2017), and the grinder needed a very fine grind setting indicative of a less than fresh roast.
4/7/2016

Andrew
Possibly some of the best coffee I've had. The aroma is incredible and goes so well in a latte.
4/7/2016

Xandra and Jay
Way too weak. Did not taste like espresso. We liked the jaguar much much better.
4/3/2016

Anna
I'd like a darker bean, the flavor notes aren't my favorite, I blended it with some darker beans. I'm not sure what 'flavor' I like in a bean. I look forward to the next batch, something different! thanks. I like the freshness, which is evident.
2/21/2016

Alex
I like the smooth and balanced flavor. I prefer espresso with stronger caramel and/or citrus notes.
2/17/2016

Michael
too chocolately for my in the morning. though my wife did like it
2/6/2016

Tayma
Very pleasant. Chocolate and nutty notes. Very slight hint of citrus flavors, but not at all overpowering.
2/1/2016

matt
Smooth, medium bold, a bit more citrus than I usually prefer. But very nice.
1/24/2016

Pamela
Makes a pretty good latte but as an espresso the flavors don't stand out. I would do 3.5 stars if possible.
1/20/2016

Robert
Coffee does not match description at all. Almost no nose before or after grinding. At most a medium roast, flavor is mild with some nuttiness and little else. Fortunately coffee is absent of bitterness and is drinkable, but not really suitable as espresso. Honestly, based on the large discrepancy between the description and my experience, it seems possible I was sent the wrong coffee.
1/9/2016

Christian
Really enjoyed the chocolate, nutty undertones in this. That's my favorite style.
1/3/2016

antonio
Good - we liked the bold flavor. In general we prefer bolder, nuttier flavors over fruity flavors.
12/25/2015

Connor
Tastes OK when really hot, once it has cooled down even a bit, an overwhelming sourness takes over and makes it hard to drink. We have not tried it yet in Lattes. but we are primarily short and long espresso drinkers.
12/21/2015

erhan
It's a weak coffee for my taste, I tried it with regular measurements as an espresso. I wasn't impressed with the result, which I think was weak for my taste, however, I do drink dark roasts mostly.
12/14/2015

Katherine
A little too dark for our tastes
11/19/2015

Kate
I really loved the nutty under tones of this coffee. I wanted to taste the true essence of this coffee. So I tried it black and it was a little too bitter for me. With that being said I always take milk and a little bit of sweetener with coffee. I wish I liked black, I just can't do it. Adding the milk, I truly enjoyed it. My favorite coffee is Sumatra. Bold but smooth. This was a pleasant change. I used a French press, course grind.
11/14/2015

Micah
Very light sweet taste. I prefer more bite in my espresso.
11/2/2015

Sherry
Too dark of a roast for me.
10/25/2015

Christopher
Very bitter and lacks sweetness. Tried to reduce the amount of grounds to pull a less extracted shot, but the outcome was the same.
10/12/2015

Amanda
AMAZING
10/2/2015

Jeffrey
Deep flavor but still very smooth and not bitter at all. Loved it!
9/9/2015

Lex
Not bold enough
9/5/2015

Jim
A nice mellow roast. Not quite as bold as I prefer for my first cup of the day. I'm a big fan of starbucks italian roast, very finely ground brewed using a melita single cup paper filter with 200 degree water.
8/31/2015

Jason
Did not like very much
8/25/2015

Michael
Chocolately and nutty....very smooth and not overly bold. Great as straight espresso, or with milk. I typically keep the burr grinder on a setting of 5, and had to go to 10 (very course) in order to get decent espresso....otherwise it was too fine and the machine had trouble during extraction.
8/25/2015

Peter
Really, really nice. The best coffee I've brewed in my home to date
8/11/2015

Chelsea
This may say "espresso" on the bag, but it is light and slightly sour. There's nothing bold or dark about it. It may taste better with some milk, but for a black coffee drinker, this is disappointing. I can tell that it's good coffee, but it's not for me.
8/11/2015

Alan
WAY too acidic.. Yikes..
8/2/2015

Michelle
Rich, natural sweetness
8/1/2015

Erin
Love the taste. Great aftertaste too. Lots of flavor.
7/27/2015

Anthony
Not my personal preference. I do not like medium roast. I tend to prefer dark and oily.Just not to my liking.
7/27/2015

Chase
Enjoyed this one. Boldness was balanced well with just a little (not too much) sweet chocolate finish.
7/20/2015

Kenneth
Coffee was very good! one of the best I have had, I would like some high caff coffee!(Im active duty army and caffine is super important!!!, flavor was good though, I like nutty and deep flavors!
7/20/2015

Zheng
Chocolately and nutty, pleasant coffee, a bit weak when paired with milk
7/19/2015

Lesley
Really loved this, don't know what else to say
7/18/2015

Lindsey
Not as dark or oily as I would expect from an espresso, and was a little bitter when black.
7/7/2015

John
Too bold for my liking
6/15/2015

Jeff
Disliked sour acid note (acid, not tannic). Checked for proper extraction. Would not have guessed this is called a dark roast. Under roasted?
6/13/2015

Corbin
I love this coffee, the smell alone is amazing presenting with both chocolate and nutty scents. The taste is phenomenal, giving a burst of coffee and chocolate flavor with ever-present nutty undertones, making it strike my tongue with a complex yet refreshing cup of coffee.
6/6/2015

Mitchell
Bold taste with no acidity
6/1/2015

Sandy
Not roasted enough. It said dark roast, but the beans were tan instead of dark brown. The I Agree with Julia, that the flavor was flat, not bold.
5/25/2015

Julia
Too bitter, tastes almost burned. At the same time it was missing a dimension of flavor. I kept brewing it stronger hoping that it would get richer in flavor but it just became more tart.
5/19/2015

Michael
This blend was just okay. The description given for the Espresso Blend is right on, "bold with a mix of chocolate and nutty flavors". Just what we like! But the reality was a bit weak. Not very bold from our perspective. We prefer a stronger, bolder flavor that holds up to a bit of milk used to make our cappuccinos.
5/10/2015

Ben
This was good, we liked it. Saving the five star for something exceptional.
4/15/2015

Joshua
I like the nutty flavor of this one as a drip coffee.
4/7/2015

Janelle
Really liked this one!
