Coffees from Brazil and Guatemala were carefully chosen and blended together to create the perfect Direct Trade blend for drip/filter and cold brew/iced coffee methods. Simple and straightforward, this coffee is intended to appeal to a wide audience of coffee lovers. We love this coffee for its notes of bittersweet chocolate and snickerdoodle cookie and rich flavors.

I struggle to like this coffee. the bittersweet sweet notes seem to more pronounced then I would like at the finish of a taste. It does taste good with dairy as bitterness is tamed

Quite nice. Did better in the pour over than in the French press as advertised. Made for some delicious iced coffee, which really brought out the sweeter notes in it.

Smooth, not a trace of bitterness. Dry earthy spice and cocoa notes with the dry cocoa being predominant. I would prefer a richer, more mouth coating "fattier" coffee. This coffee is definitely dry and subtle (I would not describe as "rich"). I made it in a French Press where I soaked the coarse ground beans for 5 minutes. I'll try it making overnight cold brew next. Served with sugar- in- the- raw and cream.

A great combination of full-bodied roastyness with a pleasant hit of acidity. Like a combination of bittersweet chocolate and butter cookies. The flavor evolves from the first moment of acid, to roasty, to sweet, and lingering to a nice pretzel-like roastiness.

I don't normally drink dark coffee but I have a soft spot for Barefoot and wanted to experiment. Their Beast did not taste burnt but the beans were unsurprisingly a tad too dark for me. Good, but I would not order again.

Really disappointing. Every Barefoot I have had is sour, this one too. Very overrated.

Only okay. The best part about this coffee was that it tasted largely the same no matter if I took a lot of care in brewing it, or if I just threw it together because I was hungover and running late to work.

Just not great coffee. I’m not sure how to describe the taste except that it wasn’t good. Couldn’t pick out any distinct notes and tasted bland and cheap.

Nice, rich coffee with good balance. I like the flavors. I pick up mostly a smooth chocolate note, perhaps a cookie/snickerdoodle finish (but only if I concentrate on that thought).

I love this blend, it is smooth, rich and has a nice flavor. I enjoy a few other blends from Barefoot Coffee Roasters and this fits right in with the others, having a nice chocolate flavor.

Like the description says, this will appeal to a wide audience simply because it is a very neutral coffee. There is nothing particularly great or poor about this coffee. It does have an excellent bittersweet chocolate taste on the backend.

this made fairly weak coffee... I tried brewing with more than usual amount for pour-over coffee and the result was still noticeably weaker than most of the others. good flavor, but maybe just too subtle for me.

This is a nice coffee that goes well with desserts and sweets. Simple and straightforward and has nice hints of chocolate and nut.

Surprised this is called a dark roast. The beans are pale and there is almost no odor. The taste was muted. Disappointed.

I like this coffee a lot better than the last one. Its very well balanced and smooth. I am tasting just a hint of that acerbic taste that I didn't like in the last coffee. I'm not a big fan of snickerdoodle. I'd like to go even richer in my next coffee. Thanks!

Would've given this one 3.5 stars if we could. Liked it, but not quite as much as the Steadfast coffee from the previous week. Overall, was really good and not bitter, just a little darker than ideal.

The Beast was an excellent blend. Whether Chemex or Espresso it came out with great flavor and richness. Enjoyed this roast most of all the ones I've tried to date. Happy New Year.

This was good. It needed to be off roast for a while for it to come through. It wasn't a very interesting cup of coffee. It mostly tasted like coffee with hints of chocolate.

This is the bean I've been waiting for. Deeply complex in body and taste, it makes an excellent espresso. There's a nicely balanced caramel-chocolate-spice thing going on that's really exceptional.

I really enjoyed The Beast. Its name sounds a bit harsh for its smooth taste. It's good as an espresso, mild bitterness and overall candy aftertaste but in a latte, that's where the whole chocolate and cookie comes out. Though I prefer a little bit more bitterness and fruits, the few friends of mine who enjoy my coffee were unanimous with The Beast. They all loved it.

Much better than the last batch! Tasted pretty good using Aeropress and tasted OK using pourover. I think I might like lighter roasted coffees than I realized and maybe I was wrong to select the medium roast coffee when starting this subscription - which is great for me to learn! In reality I think this coffee was more like a 3.5-4 star, but I am giving it a 3star to make it clear that the first coffee was still probably the best of the 3. I hope this is not too critical - I am not trying to be a coffee jerk, I just want to find what coffees I like best!
