Crystal
did not care for taste
1/22/2023

John
Medium roast. some caramel and dried fruit notes.
1/18/2023

Barbara
The descriptive words suit this coffee, it is complex. Very nice!
11/15/2022

Chet
This was a really fun coffee to play around with. Brewing with different ratios brought out different flavors from caramel sweetness to raisin fruitiness. Would drink again.
11/9/2022

Matthew
Really didn't have a distinct flavor I enjoy. The flavor was rather subtle. I did not taste much caramel
10/5/2022

Aaron
To me seemed quite balanced. Smooth, not acidic and enjoyable.
5/12/2022

Hannah
This one is nice. Nothing super special, but a lovely comparison to the last few.
2/18/2022

Erin
I wasn't sure about the notes of raisin at first, but it definitely grew on me. Pretty solid coffee - not much to complain about, but not necessarily much that wowed me either. Would definitely drink again though. Brewed with a French press.
6/8/2021

Jon
Very smooth, would get again
5/5/2021

Jessica
Beautiful light blend. Very pleasant.
4/4/2021

Jason
Decent coffee - but DARK, was really surprised to see the telltale shine on the beans when I opened the bag. Great for those dark roast drinkers who want a bit more nuance but beware if you consider yourself a “light” roast person.
4/4/2021

Eric
Great with Aeropress Lattes. Loved the complexity. I was skeptical when I read the roaster's notes about hints of raisin but this ended up being a delicious roast.
3/24/2021

Dan
I liked this one - not sure how to describe exactly why, but it was easy to drink when not thinking about it, and had some interesting notes to discover when thinking about it.
2/28/2021

Thuy
Great coffee! Hints of chocolate milk, caramel, with a nice touch of sweetness. Used an aeropress as my main brewing method,
11/21/2020

Daniel
I love the complexity of this coffee. It has an earthy aftertaste that makes it delightful. I usually reserve ratings until I've tried it in a french press, but I can already tell this is one of my favorites.
10/22/2020

Calvin
Liked it a lot. I wouldn't have picked it based on the description but it was a good cup of coffee.
10/14/2020

Hunter
a little too herbal for my taste
9/29/2020

Becca
Solid!
9/1/2020

Rob
Taste's like coffee
7/10/2020

Carrie
Outstanding. We loved this one!
4/18/2020

Wayne
Simply delicious
11/18/2019

Edward
I really enjoyed this one, great dark undertones.
9/28/2019

John
a delicious morning coffee. Different than what I normally drink. The undertones of caramel/molasses was great.
8/8/2019

Olin
great, complex flavor
8/2/2019

Kelly
This is my favorite of the coffees I have received thus far. The caramel notes really come through.
7/30/2019

Jin
Having tried a few different types & brands I keep returning to this one. Great balance of chocolatey & complex. Love.
7/26/2019

Jay
I and my family enjoyed this coffee a lot. Flavorful without being bitter.
7/22/2019

Jason
This is revised. After a couple of days drinking this, I like it quite a bit. I tend to like coffees with a bit more body, but this had a great overall balance.
7/22/2019

Scott
subtle fruit notes, nice introduction to single origin
7/13/2019

Cindy
Did not like it. I specifically asked for medium to dark roast with no hint of fruit. Completely mismatched to what I requested.
7/10/2019

Robert
Tasted great in the chemex, not so much in the cold brew. Definitely complex.
7/9/2019

mark
Weak tasting. Prefer something stronger with more body
7/4/2019

Mr. & Mrs.
It’s good, I prefer a little bit more floral flavor. It’s outside my comfort zone which is also a good thing.
7/3/2019

Bill & Linda
I like it very much. It’s just bold enough for my morning mug.
6/30/2019

Matthew
I've very much enjoyed this so far. The sweetness and the fruit tones make a great flavor combination.
6/27/2019

Lloyd
Great flavor
Would prefer something a little bit darker
6/26/2019

Dan and Judy
This coffee is too weak for us. We enjoy strong/bold coffees and would like to change our preferences for future shipments.
6/26/2019

Brad
I love it!
6/26/2019

Grant
I found this coffee lacking complexity, but not in a bad way. It was smooth and very balanced. The flavor profiles were strong enough to keep it from being boring, but were more subtle than I prefer. Perfect for when you aren’t looking for anything in particular, but just want a really good cup of coffee.
6/25/2019

Felix N
To dark for my taste. Low body
6/24/2019

Robert
Complex flavors. Slightly bitter finish with both drip coffee and espresso. Although, pretty delicious when you add milk to either!
6/24/2019

Kurt
If I have to be picky, I'd say about the only thing missing for me was a creamier mouth feel and a bit more sweetness. I may also just have an unsophisticated palate. :)
6/24/2019

Molly
Bland
6/24/2019

Momma
Not strong enough
6/23/2019

Drew
Not a true 3.0 but definitely not a 4.
6/20/2019

Al
This is a very smooth coffee. I really like it. I generally prefer a stronger tasting coffee, but if I use the french press, and make it strong, it is a very nice cup. I generally have been drinking darker roasts, but I really like not tasting the burnt flavor from roasting, and being able to taste the bean in this coffee/roast.
6/17/2019

Vafa
I thought it was mostly bland and flavorless. Wasn't bad by any stretch, but it really didn't excite me at all. Yeah, I get excited about coffee because I'm a nerd.
6/16/2019

Barbara
Great complex flavor
6/4/2019

Jeffrey
Bland
5/26/2019

James
Good smooth not acidy herbal ligh wash
3/6/2019

Alicia
a little on the light side, but I still liked it! wouldn't want to go lighter/more acidic than this though
2/11/2019

Larry
loved it
1/10/2019

Zachary
Really enjoyed this one! Good aroma, not too heavy mouth feel, with light notes of fruit and that carmelly sweetness. Maybe a bit too herbal in the taste for me though. Enjoy those single-origin roasts.
12/30/2018

Steve
I have never had a coffee this interesting.
12/16/2018

Erica
I really liked this coffee! More flavor than dark roast, but not too fruity like some light toast.
12/15/2018

Tyler
A little too light in flavor for my tastes, but not bad overall.
12/5/2018

Jon & Leslie
excellent balance between depth and "brightness"
11/29/2018

Michael
Drinking a cup right now that was ground a few days prior, so I’m not getting the full impact of the bean. That said, it is a very smooth roast and those dark caramel notes are forward enough to provide some interest but not over powering. I’m not getting much of the fruity notes, and overall the coffee lacks some power. All in all, a very solid cup of coffee. Good for an every day kind of cup.
11/29/2018

Luke
A lighter roast than I prefer.
11/25/2018

Jeremy
This coffee has been giving me nightmarish acid reflux. DCR coffee has not been my friend in general
11/23/2018

Hannah
It was darker than I'd expect for a light-medium roast. It had a very subtle aroma, and the front wasn't great, but it had a smooth finish.
11/19/2018

Rebecca
Great cup of coffee! The smell of caramel is very strong in the cup. Smooth and rich.
11/19/2018

Madeleine
Liked this one much more than the first one! Smooth and delicious
11/16/2018

John
I enjoyed it very much. I am comparing it to the Kenya AA I normally drink and I felt this coffee lacked some of the nuance I taste in that. It seemed to have a rather straightforward flavor. It could be just me failing to pick out the complex flavors though. Nevertheless, it made a good cup of coffee.
11/15/2018

Mark/Karen
Really like the flavor. I can really taste the caramel. The flavors are very interesting. We made our first batch of coffee in the French press, seriously great cup of coffee!
11/15/2018

Joe
Raisin and sweetness permeate the beans itself. The offer itself is a bit darker with slight bitterness. I can taste the caramel and also a bit of tobacco. Good as a dark, but still mild coffee.
11/13/2018

glade
Bitter, unpleasant in French press
11/13/2018

Adam
Good, like the earthiness and acidity but not a very strong coffee. Find myself using way more grounds than I normally would to make a good flavorful cup of coffee
11/13/2018

Valeria
Subtle flavor, not acidic
11/12/2018

Stephen
Love it. It tastes amazing.
11/11/2018

Westin
Pretty good, not a huge fan of the raisin notes
11/10/2018

Graham
I didn't love it. Thought it was a bit sharp (not sure if that helps) and strangely strong. But, it was fun to try!
11/6/2018

Jeffrey
A little bright
11/6/2018

Greg
I'm sure this is good coffee, but it struck me as having no taste, and someone else in our family said the same thing before I expressed that opinion. It may be that it does have taste, but it's just not one we're used to. I'm definitely not a light roast palate in either case and this is medium-light. Anyway, we only made it once and no one has really wanted to brew it again. I'm going to see if my father-in-law likes it.
11/6/2018

Matt
hoping for something a bit more "richer" and "deeper." it tasted a little bitter.
11/5/2018

John
Very middle of the road as far as flavor. Not too rich and not too acidic
11/2/2018

Alberto
Slightly more bitter than expected. I was hoping for more fruity notes. Counter Culture, Blue Bottle and Four Barrel are my favorites. This tasted a little herbal
10/29/2018

Robert
First impression was that it taste very plain and flat to me. I brewed it twice, the 2nd time with less water to see if the flavors would stand out more, still the same result. Is there a particular brew method that is best for this coffee? I'm using a Chemex.
On the plus side, I like the chocolatey notes and the fact that it doesn't taste burnt. Perhaps I just want something that pops more, with more exciting notes and flavors - I'm willing to experiment here.
10/25/2018

Hunter
Definitely taste the caramel and hints of dried fruit aftertaste. Made a well balanced cup and got smoother as it cooled. I tend to be more of a berry flavor note but was a good different
10/22/2018

Travis
I loved this coffee. Right out the gate you guys are beating expectations. I love the richness of this medium roast which doesn't overpower the complex sugars but also doesn't deliver the acid tang of lighter roasts. Definitely tasting the caramel, which is maybe more of a dried fruit component, like dates or prunes. There's also a pretty distinct earthy or grassy flavor on the back end of the cup. This seems to become more prevalent as the coffee cools.
10/21/2018

Abbey
Medium light was new for us. Seemed less flavorful than a light, but the lower acidity was nice. We just got a Behmor drip brewer and are excited to try more options from mistobox!
10/18/2018

Aubrey
A little too dark a roast for me. I think the coffee itself was fine in it's own right just not my style.
10/18/2018

Shane
Did not enjoy this coffee. Couldn’t seem to dial it in and didn’t have a taste.
10/17/2018

Braydon
Definitely good coffee but not the best pourover I've had. Beans tasted a little old although recently roasted, some of the flavors weren't as poignant as hoped.
10/17/2018

michael
It was a bit light. I would not order again.
10/16/2018

John
Very enjoyable
10/15/2018

Julie
I’m not fond of this coffee. I can taste and smell something that I don’t like, but I’m not sure how to describe it.
10/15/2018

Tyler
Good, maybe a little weak or I just haven’t figured my grinder and aero press out yet.
10/14/2018

Michael
Ok. Nothing special. Good aroma. The tastes were too subtle.
10/1/2018

Michael
We like really strong dark coffee. This had an interesting earthy flavor, but was on the light side for us
9/30/2018

Matthew
I normally drink coffee with cream and sugar. Doing that with this overwhelms the flavor of the coffee. It does taste fine by itself, but I'd prefer something a bit darker for the next bag.
9/26/2018

Tawnya
I was very happy with this coffee! I love that it has a slightly sweet taste and not acidic. I was unsure what roast level I would like but now I think a medium roast is just what I’m looking for.
9/24/2018

Neal
Very nice. Smooth, caramel/chocolate notes. I really liked it.
9/19/2018

Debra
I am notoriously unfussy about my coffee, and am just beginning to grind my own beans and try my hand at French press coffee. I thought this was great, with a nice full flavor that had almost fruity elements. No detectable bitterness, which I liked.
9/17/2018

Olivia
Really great first selection. Not too light, not too dark. I am enjoying!!
9/13/2018

Mari
I never quite mastered how to brew it perfectly I don't think.
Fantastic, but a bit less versatile than I'd prefer. Great taste, but hard to tease out all the nuance.
9/9/2018

Rychelle
I'm pretty opposed to any coffee involving fruity notes or flavors, but this coffee wasn't bad. It has a sour taste to it that I'm not really fond of. The roast was little on the light side, I typically go for a medium-dark roast with a bolder flavor.
9/8/2018

Nicole
Really enjoyed this blend! not too acidic and creamy. I can also taste the caramel.
9/6/2018

Jake
Nothing particularly interesting in this one, although not a bad cup of coffee. Blackberry cobbler and general fruit flavors. Somewhat forgettable - not my favorite.
8/24/2018

Steven
Excellent coffee! I liked much better than the Anodyne and better than Intelligentsia.
8/20/2018

Jared
Complex but a very approachable cup of coffee. The stone fruit backbone was highlighted by a rich chocolate and caramel flavor. Our favorite of the selections sent to us so far.
8/5/2018

Chuck
I thought it was smooth. I might like it a little darker if possible. I like the caramel herbal maybe not so fruity. Do you have something that might be caramel, chocolatey and coconut? I will trust your recommendation. Overall I like the coffee that you chose for me. Thank you
7/30/2018

Austin
Enjoyed this coffee
7/11/2018

ARIEL
Its ok - i prefer a bold coffee with more of a rich, chocolate / sweet aroma and flavor
7/2/2018

Jack
ok. prefers a little darker roast.
7/2/2018

Will
Hearty coffee without too much acid or bitterness. No notes particularly jump out, but a very tasty brew!
6/22/2018

Scott
A really nice crisp taste.
6/17/2018

Matt
My favorite coffee I have received from here.
6/17/2018

Nicholas
Not the best flavor profile and tasted darker than described
6/16/2018

Teresa
Did not enjoy as much as first coffee. Roast was too light and taste was not bold enough
6/6/2018

Angelo
Complexity diminished after 3rd day. Best as a Gibraltar.
6/4/2018

Joseph
I found the Dilanos Coffee Roasters Papua New Guinea to be too bland for me. Intelligentsia is the coffee company I buy the most of and I order very different coffees from them. I like particularly their African coffees. What I like most about Intelligentsia coffee is that no matter what coffee I buy, I taste flavors very clearly -- whether it is grapefruit, or leather or tobacco or many other flavors. With the Dilanos Papua New Guinea, there is nothing that stands out in terms of flavor. It's not that I like a particular flavor. I like many different kinds but I want to taste them, both clearly and subtlely. Hope this helps to understand my coffee palate.
5/28/2018

Jacob
Keep this one in the regular rotation. I generally prefer darker roasts, but this one reminded me of some Sumatra Mandheling I used to get from a local roaster.
5/24/2018

shy
My guess is the batch received wasn't too fresh. I enjoyed single origin PNG beans many times in the past and the known good and gentle tastes were recognizable here. There is something missing though, judging by smelling the beans and tasting the coffee, my only guess would be that it was roasted a too long while ago, more than 2 weeks. I might be wrong,
5/7/2018

Anne
Loved this! Strong but not bitter, lots of flavor.
4/6/2018

Rob
The flavor notes of caramel and the aftertaste of dark chocolate were luscious.
4/2/2018

Negin
not a fan
4/1/2018

Annette
Bold, low acid, flavorful.
3/25/2018

Jan
Liked this coffee better than our first mailing. Seems rich and like the earthiness. Could taste the raisin undertone which was surprisingly nice although I wouldn't want it any fruiter. Overall very good coffee.
3/18/2018

Ian
Decent.
3/16/2018

Emilie
I was not as much of a fan of the fruity notes of this coffee. I think I like more nutty flavors.
3/3/2018

Anne
Did not receive Jan order
2/24/2018

Sharon
Prefer a darker roast and not a fan of the earthy aftertaste.
2/23/2018

Dan
Not bad but brewed a little bit too acidic and fruit-y for me. Too light of a roast for me.
2/23/2018

Father
I liked it as a drip. good flavor.
2/19/2018

Amy
Would like something a little darker. Tasty, enjoyed.
2/18/2018

Bethany
I enjoyed the first coffee I was sent more than this one. This one did not wow me and I can't quite put my finger on why, but the coffee sort of tasted underextracted no matter how I ground/brewed it. Maybe it wasn't full bodied enough? But I don't necessarily need a dark roast or chocolatey notes to enjoy a coffee. Maybe medium-light was too light a roast, though. I don't remember the last Papua New Guinea I've had so it might have been getting used to that too.
2/17/2018

Nick
Very smooth and great depth
2/15/2018

Steve
I found the blend to be complex and full flavor of medium boldness.
2/14/2018

Natalie
it's nice! i think i prefer orange notes to caramel.
2/12/2018

Cheryl
We didn't like this as much as the Deep Space Blend from Good Folks. It had what seemed like a flowery aftertaste, not as pleasant as that chocolatey or carmel smoothness. Maybe we like darker roasts more than we thought!
2/12/2018

Lauren
Solid, would drink this often. But it doesn't have anything out of the ordinary or interesting. Not that it's bad, just not *special*.
2/12/2018

Kim & Dave
Just the way we like it! Not overbearing and goes down so smooth.
2/7/2018

Ryan
absolutely love it
2/2/2018

Mark
It was a little too “fruity”. Was nice and smooth which I prefer. Also prefer a darker roast. Thanks, Mark
2/2/2018

Chris
Liked it much better than the first one - enjoyed the roast level - liked the fruitiness - would like slightly bolder taste.
2/1/2018

Scott
I've been pretty heavily drawn towards PNG coffees since visiting Hub Coffee Roasters in Reno, NV in 2015. Their riverside cafe still stands as one of the most memorable coffee shop experiences of my life, and their single origin PNG Kunjin on espresso still holds a unicorn-like status for me.

That being said, I've only gotten the chance so far to brew this PNG from Dillanos on V60 so far, but it is stunning. It's got the killer body that I've come to expect and lust for in a PNG with some subtle sweetness that leads to a fully herbaceous and slightly earthy finish. Excited to put this through the Aeropress later and may have to take this into work and pull some on a proper espresso machine, as I think it'll be balance enough to shine as a shot. AMAZING PICK! THANK YOU!
2/1/2018

Cindy
Nice as both pourover (Chemex) and Aeropress. Complex, with sweetness, earthiness, acidity. It's the second Papua New Guinea coffee we've had and we've really liked both.
1/30/2018

Amanda
Smooth and flavorful!
1/30/2018

Sarah
Tasted exactly as it smelled--carmely, rich and very tasty, I'd never heard of this brand but would definitely buy again.
1/29/2018

Jacob
Definitely got some sweetness from the caramel. A little floral sometimes but i might be mistaking that for the herbal. Overall it was pretty good.
1/29/2018

Shannon
Really light and not very flavorful.
1/29/2018

Thuat
I loved it! Good smell to it, a nice mild and smooth taste!
1/28/2018

Joshua
Just ok.
1/25/2018

Pat
Very good. Much better than first shipment. Papua New Guinea more in keeping with my preference for a bolder coffee
1/22/2018

Patrick
This one seemed over-roasted. It muddied the flavor profile and was very difficult to draw out any complexity. Not sure if it was just this batch. I initially used pour-over but quickly realized it was better suited for immersion brew method. It was ok with a French Press or Clever, but far less conducive with a v60 and the like. Definitely not Medium-Light as the coffee indicates on the packaging.
1/20/2018

Andrew
This was very good. I have never had a coffee from this area and was very excited to try it. I typically enjoy more fruity, citrus, and earthy flavors in my coffee. This one had a more chocolate, fudge, and heavier flavor to it. While I enjoyed the coffee I have preferred the other 2 coffees that I tried much more.
1/12/2018

Cameron
Like the texture, very round. Twiggy/forest floor character, baking spices in the finish. There's a roasty quality that comes across as burnt on the finish that I don't love, but good overall.
1/11/2018

Kate
Awesome earthiness and flavor. If it were a pinch muddier, this would be a 5. Great coffee!
1/10/2018

Jared &
I liked the velvety feel and complex flavor of this coffee. It didn't taste too roasted and it seemed like I could taste the caramel complexity. Good!
1/10/2018

Scott
Very good
1/6/2018

Anna
So good!
1/4/2018

Kyle
On the darker side, There's a lot going on here that I'm not experienced enough to pick out. Full bodied? Sure. The caramel background is nice. Smelled fruity in the bag, but I don't think that taste made it into the cup. I may have waited too long to really dig into it.

I preferred the first coffee. Too roasty for my preference.

Prepared as French Press. Found the cup to be inconsistent. When I missed, it was a fine cup. When I hit, herbal notes were very enjoyable and easy to find. Could not find the caramel, but if you can dial this one in, its still a wonderful cup.

Unique aroma and unusual, intricate flavor. I'm really enjoying this coffee. This is the kind of new coffee experience I hoped for with this subscription.

Would prefer something a little more bold and flavorful. This seemed like a classic breakfast blend coffee.

Finally a coffee we truly enjoyed from Mistobox. Didn't hurt that it came from Dillanos!

Mild and Subtle.

The roast was darker than I would prefer. Also, there was no roasting date which seemed odd.

Really good, it's got a richer flavor than the Guatemala I had previously. Love.

Pretty good coffee overall. Not very strong, but it has a nice smooth feel to it.

Possibly the best coffee I've ever had...and I normally don't even like light/med light roast coffee. It brews beautifully in an aeropress, and makes a rich and full-bodied cup of coffee. Will definitely buy again.

Roberto
Loved it, flavorful, rich, strong.

Richard
Initial taste is a bit weak, middle taste is okay but muddled, and the finish is too much like smoke or ash for my tastes.

Bob
Good medium to light roast with caramel and buttery notes. Not bitter or smoky and finishes clean. Great breakfast coffee, and good just about anytime.

We like this coffee, but for the next batch could we get something a bit stronger/bolder? Thanks!

Megan
This coffee has a smooth, yet flavorful taste. Perfect for breakfast.

this is a good coffee. little lighter than medium, and not strong on any flavor. it resembles more of a rich low acid flavor, and its got a great resemblance to its other of the same roasters.

Nell
It tastes great :)

Barry
Smelled freshly roasted. Taste is light the way I like it, but has a strong chemical-like taste. Not a fan.

Joshua
Pretty strong, best in the aeropress.Hints of sweetness.
