Description
The Brazil 45 Espresso was carefully roasted for you by Equator Coffees & Teas. This espresso blend combines two exceptional coffees from Brazil and Colombia. True to coffees from this area, this coffee is blended and roasted to bring out full bodied texture and notes of dark chocolate, cinnamon, graham cracker and deep jammy fruit notes.

Sort of "neutral", high quality but no strong flavors in any particular direction. Solid as black coffee or as espresso for americano or lattes.

I've had this a couple times and both times have thought it was just decent. If you like a traditional South American blend espresso this is it. It's jammy, chocolaty and has a decent body.

I had a disappointing visit to a store serving Equator in an airport. However this bag did not disappoint! Just as pleasant to drink as the Tigerwalk Espresso- though not as heavy on the chocolate notes.

I tried this coffee as a straight espresso, an americano, v-60 & chemex and didn’t care for it using any of these brew methods. It was only memorable b/c it tasted slightly charred.

Ok. This Equator roast is one of the tastiest espressos I’ve ever had! I’d love to try more roasts from Equator over time. Sweet nuttiness with berry notes and cacao. Wow!

I think this was my favorite espresso so far -- it has a great aroma when ground, easy to pull, rich and full-flavored. It is also super consistent even as it ages; I stayed with the same grind/dose the whole time and never had to fuss to get it to come out decent. Roast is definitely on the dark side of medium but I was OK with that here.

Great balance. There's no overwhelming flavor that takes over the cup.. It's little bit "brighter" than Fast track, almost a darker chocolate flavor vs milkier chocolate. It's a bit more sensitive to brew temperature. A definite caramel flavor lingers after each sip. So far, both batches have been right on the same grinder setting. Very nice not to have to experiment too much and waste beans.

This is what I typically look for in an espresso! Richness with full body but not too much acidity dark chocolate flavors and a nutty richness with no fruit tones to muddle the flavors. The crema was thick and rich in and of itself. Amazing espresso!

My favorite of the three so far! I definitely get the dark chocolate plus a sweet peanut butter w/ cinnamon. Not getting any fruit jam as described but it's a sweet and full espresso. 18g. finer grind than usual, pulled slightly long at 30 seconds and 4 oz. of steamed milk. The kind of espresso that makes me look forward to the morning.
-update- day 10 after roast date. adjusted my shot to 20g. The fruit bloomed. It's like a creamy blueberry and it's strong on the nose. This espresso just got even better!

Nice roast and the tasting notes are spot on. I would have personally preferred a more earthy/woodsy flavor, but this is very nice for a chocolate-forward espresso roast.

Bold and flavorful - so far I'm really enjoying this blend and can really taste the dark chocolate/jammy fruit mix.

straight espresso pulls were bitter-ish, i don't typically drink this way so my palate may not be accustomed to espresso without milk.
Was the color of the bean lighter or darker than what you typically enjoy?
I'd say it was about right - not enough experience to confirm yet.

This is a great cup of coffee. The jam finish perfectly compliments the roasty chocolate notes. I typically don't like darker blends, but this was a pleasant surprise.

I find this coffee to be weak and it doesnt do well with milk. It will overpower all of its notes instead of chocolate. Other then it will be good if it's stronger or without milk.

I liked that this coffee was well rounded. It didn't seem to have any major tastes that overshadowed the others. I wish though that the cinnamon taste was stronger. I love cinnamon in my coffee. I like the strength of the coffee as well. Also I don't know if this is part of the coffee or not, but it was a lot eaiser to grind in my hand grinder than previous coffees.

It smells great but it is very weak tasting after brewing. At first I ground 2 Tbsp/6oz as suggested but it was very weak. The next time I doubled my Tbsp but it was still very weak in taste, just like water.

I liked this one a lot. It was my first one so i dont have anything to compare to. I really got the dark chocolate out of it. I might like something with a fruiter note if thats a thing lol.

I must say I'm rather baffled, as well as disappointed, with this selection. I took the trouble to write a fairly complete summary of my espresso equipment, experience and preferences. I can't find that summary I wrote anywhere on the site now, so I hope you were actually able to see it.
In any case, I indicated a preference for single-origins, roasted "light" or "medium" on the subscription settings page, even absent my summary. I'd really like to understand your thought process in recommending a 3-Brazil, darkly roasted espresso blend to someone who drinks espresso only. To be frank, I'm not sure I'll actually use the coffee, beyond the few shots I made this morning to dial it in and taste it. Regardless of Equator's assertion that this is a "medium" roast, it's dark, oily, and smells like a Starbucks.

I enjoyed the full bodied flavor and the rich chocolate flavor. While I got the cinnamon and graham cracker via the scent of the un-ground beans, I didn't get it via taste.

Far too fruity for me. The citrus notes were able to balance out the taste of blueberry enough that I was able to get it down, but I didn't care for this one. I prefer the fruity ones to be more jammy than berry, though I'm sure others like this a lot.

A perfect dark espresso roast. Hints of earthy tones with chocolate undertones. Bold and dark but light and refreshing. Not bitter! I really like this flavor profile, great choice!

Really like the smoothness and full bodied cup, and really appreciated the chocolate notes. My palette might not be too up to par, but I only got a bit of the dark fruit notes. I'm not a fan of cinnamon at all but I wasnt able to discern that from my tastes. Definitely think its a great coffee overall.

I used this exclusively for double shot lattes in the morning with ~12oz of whole milk. These beans are quite strong with an earthy, chocolatey taste making a latte more like a dark chocolate mocha. Amazing.These beans also appear to be abnormally caffeine dense. I only have one drink per day, around 8am, and after finishing this I was still energized at 6pm. These are my new favorite beans.

Very well balanced and smooth medium/dark roast, love the subtle graham cracker taste and aroma. Used in milk based espresso drinks and as straight espresso. 20g in / 35g out / 28sec / 202degF

It was super tasty! I definitely like where it is going. Very smooth and has a nice sweetness. I think I found it slightly light but it's a good breakfast coffee. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because I feel like it's missing just a little something but can't put my finger on it.I think the aroma. When I opened my mailbox it has this amazing delicious small but those aromas I don't taste or smell as much in the coffee itself. Maybe also just a touch more body.This is from after having about 3 cups of it so far.
