This coffee somehow manages to be both rich and light at the same time, which I'm really enjoying. It feels very drinkable, not especially complex. Occasionally it tastes slightly more bitter than I would like.

It's a good cup of coffee but I didn't get any notes of caramel at all. Maybe if I'm being generous I'd say I taste the dark chocolate but coffee itself tends to be bitter so could just be the coffee beans. I'm not a coffee professional or guru at all. I wish the flavors that were advertised I could really pick up and taste but Over all if someone just gave me a cup of this not telling me anything except that it's coffee I'd drink it and love it.

Small fruitier notes when drunk black. After I added a splash of heavy cream the flavor was dispersed evenly and was a smooth drink. I enjoyed - although I think I might like something that trends darker in roast more.

This coffee was awful. It was highly acidic and lacked flavor. I have had a more flavorful cup of Folgers. On the three times I have tried to drink and his coffee, I suffered from acid indigestion for the rest of the day. Definitely not worth the money.

Hands down- it was absolutely delicious! I have already tried multiple ways: Chemex & V60. I tasted it as a single bean, mixed it with homemade cashew+MCT Oil creamer, and plan to even do it black iced. The deeper notes of chocolate are exactly what my palate was craving: )

Compared to the other coffees, this one just seemed Ok to me. The flavor didn't taste as complex, at least as an Americano. I tried it as an espresso and it was good, but more of a single flavor versus a lot of flavors mixed together. It might be that the roast was a little darker?

Finding the ratios was difficult; first cup I make is always using recommended grams and water temp. I found it to be a bit bitter at times, which I don't necessarily mind. However, it took a while for me to find a gram to water ratio that produced that coveted perfect cup. Once I did, it was pretty good. Aroma was definitely the most pleasant yet, with lots of chocolate notes. Didn't stay well in the thermos however, which was sad, so I brewed this usually in the morning before I left for work and right when I got home.

Tasted just like normal coffee you'd get at a grocery store... I didn't pick up on any chocolate or caramel notes. I preferred this one brewed in my French press over the Chemex.

This is lovely. The nose is earthy with notes of hot chocolate. The flavor is robust without being overcooked resulting in a soft mouth feel. Notes of orange peel accent the sip, giving a pleasant contrast to the overall softness. Medium length finish is quite dry, resulting in a quickly emptied mug.

Maybe I do prefer single source over blends after all... this isn’t bad, it just wasn’t as clean or pure of a taste to me. I enjoyed this coffee but I'd still like something a little richer. This one seemed to have a acidic aftertaste to me. It wasn't bad but I'd prefer something a bit smoother and richer. But I did like it better than the Kickapoo.

I love the way this coffee smells, but I didn't think the taste was as smooth as the Kickapoo. There was more acidity/tangy-ness to the aftertaste as well. Still delicious, but I liked the first coffee better. Sorry I was late reviewing!

I thought I smelled chicory when I first opened the bag. Reminded me of being at my grandmother's! Coffee was really good but there was definitely an aftertaste that lingered. It wasn't unpleasant, just different, maybe the caramel. So now I'm thinking I must not like the caramel flavor.

A good coffee but not perfect for me. At one point I thought, "this is a carmel drink." Funny but I'd say it wasn't enough of a coffee taste for me. I did try brewing both weak and very robust but I could never get the perfect cup. Perhaps I'm in person who needs something between medium roast and dark roast.

I have been an avid coffee drinker for almost two decades. This coffee is the best coffee I have ever tasted. My husband, who I call a fake coffee drinker due to his excessive flavored creamer and sugar usage, prefers this heavenly brew with just a bit of half and half. The coffee is smooth with no hit of bitterness even after it has been reheated.

I liked this roast better than Dillons blend. The color of the bean was a bit lighter than I typically go for, but the flavor is still strong without tasting burnt or bitter. (I used to live in St. Louis and always enjoyed Kaldi's coffee.)

I really enjoyed this coffee. It was one of the earthier and more well-rounded of any we've had so far. The beans are a bit deceiving - quite light in appearance - but the flavor of the dark roast beans comes through loud and clear, keeping the acidity of the lighter beans in its place. You are spot-on to say that this is a perfectly balanced cup of coffee.

The roaster's label says it is a mix of dark roasted and regular roasted beans, but the overall taste is strictly a medium roast. Fruity, high acid. Not much depth that is supposed to be provided by the addition of dark beans. I had trouble tasting any sweetness or notes of chocolate.

This was a fine cup of coffee, but not the best I have had. It does not have a smooth finish to it. Maybe too peppery tasting for me.

I expected this coffee to have a fuller taste, based on the description. It was good but not great.

This is a "balanced cup" as described but it tastes more like a dark roast, with a finish that seems to have a hint of chocolate.

It's a solid all-around easy drinking coffee. Not the depth of flavor I prefer, so I didn't give this another star. But I would order again.

Good overall. I'd drink it again. Not my absolute favorite, but a solid one I do like.

Bland. The only flavor I got was caramel. So I guess if you really like Werther's Originals.....

This coffee is all about the caramel. I've seen so many coffees claim to have notes of caramel, but they end up tasting burnt. This one balances the caramel and the dark coffee perfectly. One of my new favorites.
