Marc
Well balanced and smooth sweet up front, a touch of roastiness, and touch of acid in equal measure. Nice lingering flavor.
5/11/2022

Jeff
Smooth. Mild.

Kaylianne
This coffee is fine, but not super exciting.
8/29/2021

Jay
Great balance, a little on the lighter side, otherwise another very good bean in my French press which is the only way I brew
3/5/2021

Henrik
Overall very good coffee. Not exceptional, but definitely one to pick up every so often to vary the coffee here at home.
2/20/2021

Timothy
Balanced, interesting but not strong, nutty
2/8/2021

Sharyn
I really liked this one but my husband found it too acidic.

Marissa
Had a lovely flavor profile and wanted to try something lighter, but not for me! Didnt stand up well to my usual addition of oatmilk, ended up tasting sour to me.

Cameron
Strong chocolate-y smell from the beans / on grinding. Brewed with my french press and drip pot. Seemed to come out a bit watery with my usual grind and ratio, but adding a dash more grounds solved that. Not quite as bitter as I like my coffees and the other flavor notes didn't really come through, but still tasty.

I don’t remember being blown away by this, but I do remember when it ran out and we switched to the backup Starbucks, I couldn’t get over how little I wanted to drink the backup.
4/20/2020

Diane
LOVED. It had a milk chocolate touch❤️
4/9/2020

Tyler
A little too dark for me.
4/4/2020

Ryan
Very rich and flavorful!

Katie
too light

DAPHNE
too weak

Amelia
Not my favorite. Couldn't get a medium flavor from it. A little to dark for me. At least I like lattes so I could just add more cream and honey and it tasted good.
2/15/2020

Aaron + Paige
Ok but not great.
1/14/2020

Steve
Love at first sip. Still may need to tweak the pourover method for this, but I'm liking it a lot. Chocolate. Strength. Great first cup of the morning.
12/11/2019

Erin
This one tasted pretty weak unless we brewed it VERY strong.
8/3/2019

Joe
Brewed in Chemex. I great, clean cup of coffee.
3/27/2019

Shilpa
nutty, warm, chocolatey
12/20/2018

Jeremy
Taste ok I guess, not my favorite
11/23/2018

John
Good flavor, but a long, bitter aftertaste. Maybe not so much milk, but dark, even Baker's chocolate. Although I love Guatemala coffees, not my favorite.
11/8/2018

Yoann
Perfect!
9/18/2018

Chris
The coffee was very good, but a little malty for my taste. I would love a coffee that was just like this but less malty, and maybe a little more bitter. So a dark chocolate vs. milk chocolate flavor.
8/29/2018

SHARON
a little bland, but good medium body
8/25/2018

Caitlin
This coffee was pretty close to perfect.
8/18/2018

Ted and Glenda
Our satisfaction was complete with the Sumatra coffee, offering a unique and distinct flavor, unlike any other. Then the second shipment comes, Rio Azul that gave us a most pleasant and smooth brew, which we are thoroughly enjoying also. We look forward to new, upcoming shipments. Thanks for a great adventure!
7/28/2018

Steve
Loved the chocolate notes. My favorite coffees tend to have chocolate notes and are from Central America. Very nice pleasant cup of coffee.
Very smooth
7/26/2018

Tommy
I liked the flavor of the Sumatra from Anodyne better. The Guatemala did not have a pungent aftertaste like the Sumatra but overall the flavor felt over roasted for a light to medium roast. Not my favorite Guatemala. still a decent coffee though!
7/26/2018

Mike
It grew on me over time. Nice dark roast taste. Not perfect but pretty good!
7/11/2018

Matthew
Solid coffee. It was easy to dial this in for espresso and was great with milk. This coffee also makes excellent cold brew that is very chocolatey.
6/23/2018

Linda
I liked this coffee, but not as much as the Brazilian coffee.. This coffee has an after taste that seems a little bitter. I did not really taste anything or smell anything that was like chocolate either. I enjoyed drinking it though. Thank you it was a good choice!
5/3/2018

Erik
In one word - boring. I tried several grind sizes and water temps with my V60. Couldn't dial in a cup I really liked. Hints of chocolate but very one note and toward the bitter side. No sweetness. I wouldn't buy this one again.
4/25/2018

Ian
This was amazing. This is exactly what I like. If you guys can send me stuff like this all the time, I'll stay subscribed for a long time.
3/16/2018

Luke
The label on the coffee I received matches the roaster and title, but is labeled light roast - I enjoyed it very much though.
2/13/2018

Jayne
Lighter than I usually like, but good flavor and smooth.
6/9/2017

Hilary
I found this Guatemala to be delicious! I usually like a darker bean for those earthy notes but this was quite tasty. Also the acidity was perfect, usually lighter roasts are too acidic for me.
4/9/2017

Kayla
First of all, can I just say how much I love this service?! I've tried a few different coffee subscriptions and haven't liked any but this one! Anyway, these beans are mild with no lingering aftertaste, which I LOVE! The reason I gave it 4 stars is that there really isn't any pizzazz. The citrus notes are a tad TOO mild. Overall, it's a great cup though. I'd love it as a daily drinker.
3/3/2017

Mazen
This coffee was ok, but too subtle for me. I thought it was a little toasty, supposed to be light roast but it was more medium. It is too "balanced". It lacks the brightness and complexity in flavor, things that I look for in coffee. I brew my coffee pour over.
2/6/2017

Matt
this one is nearly a 3, but it was overroasted and pushing oil in the package. the potential of the coffee was there as the flavor was ok, but the brew was a bit chaotic and the flavor profiles bold, not subtle. just too roasty, marked a light roast, but i would call it medium or beyond. i ould like something lighter and more subtle in the future.
1/24/2017

Evan
I am still working on figuring out how to talk about the things I liked. I really really enjoyed this one, though! It was acidly balanced and felt full bodied without taking over my entire palate. Awesome mouth feel and finish. I had trouble finding the fruit notes, but I tried/still trying. Overall, again, I had a great experience with this one.
1/23/2017

Erik
I think I must've gotten part of an over roasted batch. It was very oily and dark.
1/21/2017

Gilberto
Better than the previous order. It was light on the palate and the roast was just right. It was neither sour or too earthy, definitely less citrus taste than the previous roast. I brewed this as a pour over and espresso.
1/18/2017

Jerry
It wasn't light roast. Tasted like burned beans.
9/6/2016

Justin
This was a decent cup of coffee. Very balanced...a very reliable cup each day.
8/30/2016

Brian
Decent coffee, but a bit bland for my taste. I'd like a bit more character in my cup.
3/28/2016

Brandt
I'd like to rate this 4.5 stars but, alas, I cannot. In any case, this is another great coffee roast. It's flavor is fantastic and it goes down smooth!
2/27/2016

Kevin
Oddly, this bag is labeled as a light roast, but the beans look and taste more medium to dark. Closer to brewing, it makes an okay cup of coffee, maybe at times showing subtle hints of roasted coconut. However, I feel it has a much more pleasant and distinct flavor at lower temperatures. I like letting this one cool down, to 120 degrees or lower, where it tastes much rounder and somewhat sweeter. Though I haven't tried, I'd venture to guess this would make a decent cold brew. Also, just from the bag, these beans smells really nice.
2/16/2016

John
Love this. Very balanced. Smooth.
2/1/2016

JT
A fine coffee, but a little bitter and "dirty" tasting. No hints of citrus that I could tell.
1/20/2016

Greg
The darker roast left the bean a little oily and overall lacking the punch of the citrus notes
1/19/2016

Tammy
Too light for my taste. Not robust enough.
1/15/2016

Joshua
Overall good, but a little too earthy for an every-morning cup. I did enjoy the smell of grinding them a lot though
1/8/2016

Jonathan
For a "light" roast, this coffee has a surprisingly charred taste. I did not find it to be "fantastically balanced."
1/5/2016

Nancy
A bit too dark and chocolate for my taste.
12/16/2015

David
This has been my favorite coffee so far. The citrus really stands out and the coffee seems very strong for a light roast, which is a good thing for me!
12/1/2015

Ashlyn
A little too acidic and zippy for my tastes but good nonetheless
10/30/2015

Andrea
This is probably my least favorite coffee that has been sent so far. Tastes a little bitter.
10/29/2015

Kaitlin
We really enoyed this coffee but it was a bit bitter or too citrus-y for us.
9/22/2015

Rebecca & Jeff
My husband loved this coffee! Great job. I would maybe like something a hint chocolate-y or bolder, but not too acidic. We both have sensitive stomachs to acidic coffee so the last roast was perfect. We have really enjoyed it.
9/15/2015

Jessica
Great coffee! Nice rich, balanced taste!
5/31/2015

Aron
Very dark for a "light" roast, almost a french roast and, in my opinion, not the best balance.(I brew mostly pour-over - this was better in french press but still not my favorite!)
5/20/2015

Thomas
Tasted burned to a crisp. tar-like. old school roasting style.
5/19/2015

Rebecca
Really well blended.
5/10/2015

Max
Lovely flavours from my Chemex! Great first coffee experience!
3/25/2015

Anthony
A bit of a citrus aftertaste threw my off at first but this blend went well in the press as well as pour-over
