The Peru Rutas del Inca Fair Trade Organic was carefully roasted for you by Kaldi's Coffee Roasting Co. Founded in 2013 with only 33 members, Rutas del Inca quickly grew to be one of Peru’s leading producers of organic-certified specialty coffee. Now consisting of over 258 members (30 women and 228 men), the cooperative stretches across 27 communities in the Querocoto, Huambos, and Querecotillo districts. This year's harvest reminds us of a chocolate-covered raisin with a deep raw honey sweetness. Over the top is a lively green apple acidity, giving the coffee its uncanny complexity. It's a coffee you can drink again and again and find something a little new each time.
Solid, tasty coffee. Relatively sweet?
Gentle milk chocolate, with a hint of bright (honey crisp?) apple.
Not bad! Not a standout, but definitely a solid option.
This has been our favorite so far. We love the flavors of the coffee and we will definitely purchase more from this roaster.
Best one yet! Love the flavor!
It was good. Bourbon notes really come through. Preferred this one over ice than hot though.
one of the best
This was okay. Flavors were not very prominent and had more of the roast flavor than anything else. Acidity could be more vibrant and the coffee lacked a good balance between the sweetness and acidity. Underwhelming.
Not bad, but pretty flat flavor wise.
This is one of the best coffees Mistobox has sent me so far. Can't describe exactly why but I am a big fan.
Wonderful - complex, full-bodied, sweet with chocolate notes without being over-developed.
This is one of the best ones ive gotten. Its very flavorful while still tasting light and creamy even out of a drip pour.
Has a good, balanced taste...just a tad not strong enough taste wise for me.
Agree on tasting notes, apple fruit with a chocolate finish. Need to adjust grind maybe a touch coarser for this coffee because of the chocolate notes. Ground slightly coarser and now has a lot of really cool, complex fruity notes at the finish.
This batch smelled like cigarettes. Not sure if it was a one-off or not but definitely noticeable cigarette smell after brewing.
