This is the Rwanda Kinaze Mbuye Hill brought to you by Portrait Coffee. This Fully Washed coffee was grown between 1,600 and 1,800 meters above sea level in the Ruhango District of Rwanda. This clean coffee highlights the very best of what East Africa has to offer in a refreshing profile of green apples & cranberry tartness. This coffee comes from Baho Coffee & Sundog Trading, one of Portrait's very first sourcing partners.
Excellent notes. Clean but bold and fruity. 30 grams with 16:1 ratio and a 80 gram bloom in a chemex is fantastic.
Good but finicky to brew
Bright flavors, apple skins, strong but balanced acidity like dark chocolate. Great with food or cake.
Unfortunately, this was our least favorite. Husband & I did not enjoy the taste or smell. Did not taste the “fruity” profile/notes
It just didn’t have that wow factor on the first sip. Honestly this roast took me halfway through my first cup to really open up too. Not sure why. Not terrible though. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to pick it up probably
