Description
The Starr Hill Stout Blend was carefully roasted for you by Red Rooster Coffee. Starr Hill Stout is a smooth and complex blend with tasting notes of dark chocolate and sweet caramel. This Organic & Fair Trade coffee was created as a collaboration with friends at Starr Hill Brewery to be used in their fabulous coffee cream stout, Little Red Roostarr. This one is perfect by itself, or paired with cream and sugar.

It was kind of plain; thought it’d be stronger tasting. Brewed flat bottom drip.

This coffee is so smooth. Not as bold as previous roasts, which is really nice some days. I like the hint of the chocolate and caramel.

Gives excellent crema for lattes. Closer to a medium than a medium dark. I had my coffee buddies to a cupping and they were able to get some stout notes. Currently dabbling with my pour over but for me it’s not are complex as when I drink it as an espresso

Edited to add my husband’s comments:
“I don’t like this coffee. It feels like it coats my mouth in a slimy film. I know I use cream but even black the coffee is almost slimy and seems a little burnt with no real taste.”
This one is great. It's smooth. But it's almost....too smooth. It's kind of boring in a way. I can't find anything unique about it. We drank it but there's nothing about it that makes me want to have it again if that makes sense. Not totally a miss, but not a win either.

As advertised: Rich and complex but not overpowering. Great for starting the day with a pot or brewing a cup for a midday break.

When a coffee is described as “bold”, I expect it to have some flavour. This coffee is weak and lacks any flavour. I was extremely disappointed! I would say Folgers has more flavour and that isn’t saying much.
I tossed it in the trash. I wouldn’t give it to someone else.
