This is the Kenya Kiunyu AA brought to you by Ruby Coffee Roasters. Kenyan coffees can have a range of flavors from fresh berries and intense dried fruits and to citrus and apple-like acidity with a whole slew of sweetness possibilities. Grown at 1,700 meters, this coffee from the Karithathi cooperative has everything we are looking for in a dynamic and complex Kenyan coffee. It's balanced and elegant, with raspberry and green apple in the high notes, with a lingering sweetness of dates and maple in the finish.
An extremely flavorful coffee that was incredibly well-balanced for a juicy Kenyan.
Not my cup of tea... or coffee lol.
I would probably give it a 4.5 star rating if possible. Clean and bright cup with good acidity and some nice fruity notes.
The aroma of this coffee blew me away! Although I enjoy more complex coffees and this one was more balanced, I couldn't get enough of it.
Juicy, Rich, Fruity, Silky - everything you want from a Kenyan coffee. Ruby's a pearl of a roaster!
Great acidity, well balanced. Nice body, roast level was perfect. Grapefruit, dates. Green Apple.
I was expecting some brighter fruit from this, so it's a bit of a disappointment. The chocolate and sweetness on the end are definitely apparent. It's possible I haven't dialed in the perfect settings yet.
I enjoyed this cup and thought it was pretty balanced. Notes of berry, citrus, raisin, along with a chocolate like aroma. Brewed via Kalita Wave 155.
Very well-balanced Kenyan.
Really enjoyed this coffee. A little more full bodied then I typically prefer but the overall taste was great. I should have done this in my pour over a few times instead of my Aeropress to bring more of the fruit notes out. Great coffee though. Ruby hasn't let me down so far.
True to its description, this roast has intense fruit flavors that make for a rich, delicious cup
This has been my favorite beans so far. I highly recommend this brand and country. The notes are sweet and fruity but not too intense that its overpowering. Can't say enough good things about this coffee!
Tasty African notes of juicy berries, but a bit lost in the darker roast.
I'm really pleased with this coffee. Full body and soft acidity. Still sweet and well rounded. I preferred it on V60 to Chemex, but I think that was because it arrived so fresh that I was having trouble dialing in the grind. Great job!
