This is the Banner Dark Blend brought to you by Sightglass Coffee. Banner Dark features fully washed coffees from Central and South America sourced for their deep, full-bodied sweetness, attributes which respond beautifully to a more robust roast.
Central & South America
This has been our favorite roast so far. Very great flavors extracted in the espresso.
I really enjoyed Banner Dark. It was rich and smooth.
Rich & smooth
I like Spyglass coffee and have had it before. It has a rich flavor with a slightly acidic note at the back of my tongue as I swallow a sip of hot espresso. I love the way the flavors of this particular coffee meld beautifully for an iced espresso, which I learned only by finding that I had a few more sips of my espresso after it cooled to room temperature. Of the 3 coffees I have tried so far, this one falls in the middle.
Another yummy one. I really love Sightglass Coffee and you can't go wrong with them.
Enjoyed this one but not as much as Temple Three Pillars Blend. It isn't quite as strong and doesn't have the oiliness that gives the beans that rich dark taste. This one is very smooth though and we enjoyed it when adding an extra scoop to increase the strength.
Loved the aroma. In terms of taste it was too bitter. Also like a darker bean, thanks!
very rich flavors and nice aroma
This made a great cappuccino, but i never really could get behind it as an espresso - too one dimensional
Regrettably, we didn't LOVE this blend. We prefer an even deeper taste and aroma. Should we order a "darker" coffee? We drink our coffee black.
Not dark. Too sweet. Too much graham cracker taste.
A little light for my taste -
I much prefer the Owl's Howl. This was too one-dimensional.
Not rich enough
This was good. I like the smoothness.
This one was great
Definitely not my fave. A little too light and sweet for me.
Still slightly more acidic than my preference.
Really enjoyed this one. Dark without being over-roasted with some nice toffee and chocolate notes.
Flavorful, but closer to a medium rather than dark roast. My wife tasted more acidity. This is our first coffee so not a bad first choice.
There's a slight acidity to it that I don't really like, but with cream and sugar, it's drinkable.
Loved it! Dark and flavorful
I loved this one!
Not my favorite. Has a nice bold taste, but I just can't seem to enjoy it.
Full flavored and balanced. Really nice.
Struggled to dial this in because it’s just so cocoa/dark chocolate…maybe it’s her error but I couldn’t get a decent cup the whole bag
Creamy, full body, beautiful aroma.
I made pour over and chilled it. Nice flavor - bold without being too bitter or sour. Definitely can taste the nuttiness and richness.
One of our favorites.
my wife loves it there i said it
Did not like
Very good! Very balanced once I dialed it in. Definitely no complaints about it. A nice old school classic roast. Nothing really jumps out at me, which really isn’t a bad thing. I could see this in a regular rotation at my place. Nothing about it that I “loved”, but just really like it.
Very unimpressive. Not terrible but wasn't really for us. Can't put my finger on what exactly tastes off.
Good coffee. The flavor is just a little off, too much burnt roast, not enough richness.
The coffee seemed a little bitter at times but strong and tasty overall
This is a good coffee but after just having Big Dipper I clearly like the Big Dipper flavor more.
The cocoa flavor comes through in cold brew. I think I like chocolate and dark chocolate flavors more than cocoa.
The toffee taste only barely comes through in the cold brew.
Makes a good cortado
Dark, rich. Chocolate, Toffee notes
Best of what I have tried
I liked this one a lot!
Was no flavor but smelled better than tasted could have been sitting not sure thought I would taste toffee graham notes but didn’t.
One of or most favorite coffees to date
Not a lot of flavor for all that smell
Very good. Bold, yet smooth.
very nice and balanced.
Very smooth and full flavored. In a side by side comparison with our go to Koffee Kult Dark Roast, it won out in the French Press with more flavor and sweetness, but in Espresso drinks the Koffee Kult had a richer and more chocolatey flavor.
Solid flavor, aroma richer than in the cup; no bitterness
SO roasty. The chocolate and caramel notes are there, but are overwhelmed by the bitterness of the roast level. Any lingering sweetness is gone - this coffee is SAVORY, even with sugar and cream, and not in that tasty, harmonious way. This coffee swings too far toward the dark end of the spectrum for me.
I got more citrus notes with coffee than I expected. Not a fave
It's smooth, but not favorful
Amazing coffee, it was great hot and cold. I would buy this again!
Kim and Chris
Loved this as an espresso.
This is absolutely wonderful - rich, smooth and flavorful. Perfect!
Wonderfully smooth and full bodied. I personally like a coffee that is a little more robust and dark but the flavor was very interesting. Would highly recommend to somebody who likes a medium roast.
I really love this coffee. On the bag, they describe it as a "classic cup of coffee." I often share my coffee with friends so this was perfect because its very approachable for many pallets. I was hoping you could recommend other beans similar to this that you think I would enjoy. Thanks!
A little bitter for me.
Alyssa loved this one!
Well balance for my taste. Just enough sweet and not citrusy.
Really liked this one
Great flavor, light weight, minimal acid. Easily overpowered by unfiltered water. Beans grind up finely. A great single cup, good for a delight mid day.
Consistent and full bodied
Wasn't crazy about it. Not great, but not bad either.
I loved this coffee on first taste so much I immediately ordered another bag. I knew I would go through it quick.. It's everything I love: low acidity, deep flavor, a lot of chocolate notes.. It wasn't until a week in to drinking it I found something really off-putting: This has such a tobacco scent and aftertaste, that I can barely drink it. It reminded me of chicory coffee, and I just don't enjoy that.. The smell alone after knocking the puck out of the portafilter needs to be thrown away immediately, and stored in the garage, or your house smells like a smoker has been living there. It reminded me of when my grandma, a pack-a-day smoker, died. We had to clean out her apartment. I took an heirloom (a book) home, because it reminded me of her. When I brought it in the house, the only thing I could smell was that nasty tobacco tar smell. I had to keep the book in the garage. This coffee, after being brewed, smells like that. While drinking it's not bad. But your coffee breath and brewed coffee, to me at least, have such a tobacco/tar scent that it is extremely off-putting.. This is the longest review i've written, and I feel bad for saying it. But if someone is really turned away by tobacco smell, stay away. Both my parents are smokers and I hate this smell.
Good, but not one of my favorites
Decent and full bodied, but not as flavorful in espresso.
not bold enough for my liking
Absolutely love it! Quality beans!
Well balanced. Didn't knock my socks off or anything.
I really enjoyed this coffee
Just what I was looking for!
Like a coffee with more acidity. Too smooth.
Very dark and roasty. I tried it first with french press, and then with drip. Drip actually brought out more of the sweetness at the front, and both had the heavy, pretzel-like roastiness at the end. I can appreciate it as a good bean, but it's not my favorite type of roast
Love this one! Perfect level of sweetness in a full-body coffee.
Great smooth slightly toasty flavor
Loved it. Great flavor and smooth.
Rich quality and good flavor.
Smooth and somehow still rich. Easy on the pipes without losing any flavor.
