This is the Driftless Organic Blend brought to you by Wonderstate Coffee. Simple and straightforward, this Direct Trade coffee is intended to create a rich, balanced profile that is unassuming and approachable. The cup is rich with notes of chocolate and caramel, perfect on its own or with a bit of cream and sugar.
Wonderful smooth, rich taste. Needs a slightly coarser grind. Doesn't get bitter when I make a stronger cup.
Didn't care for it. Am looking for a bean that is more oily on surface, more meaty (rich) in flavor
Tasted a bit more bitter than I prefer
Loved this. Great balance of depth, flavor, complexity, and smoothness.
Very good, medium dark. Solid cup
Good balanced coffee
I love the subtle richness of this coffee. The toffee notes appear over the solid cocoa base. This makes for a cup I truly look forward to everyday.
Half the family liked. The other half did not
Good but normal
Rich flavor, my favorite so far!!!
OK a little bit bitter
I really enjoyed this one in Americanos and cappuccinos. The Dharma was so bad I had to throw it away so this was a huge improvement.
I thought this was good, but not as much as the other 2, I wonder if it is the medium roast beans? would it be worth it to try a single bean medium roast to find out?
Very good coffee
This coffee was delicious and smooth, but I didn’t really taste the note of caramel. Maybe I’m just not preparing it right.
Guatemalan coffees are always my favorite!
Not strong enough
Wasn't bad at all, just didn't knock my socks off.
This is great coffee. If I had to drink it every day, I would not be angry at the circumstances life has dealt me. Very earthy flavor that I enjoy quite a bit.
Really liked this one.
We didn’t enjoy this bag. It was much more weak than all the other bags of coffee we have received.
Slightly more bitter than we like.
Very good! I can taste plum notes, chocolate notes. So delicious!!! Hubby says he can taste toffee.
A little strong, delicious. Enjoyed the aroma and taste. We loved it :)
I did not like Toffee taste and I prefer for dark roast
Not dark enough for me.
Really flavorful and rich- nutty and almost espresso like. I used in a French Press. Beans were very fresh! A little too bitter but still very good
more medium than dark just an OK coffee
It was kinda flavourless. Like It didnt taste like much.
Delicious! Different than our regular coffee, and the flavor was rich and tasty.
Really loved this one
I really like this coffee. It was super smooth and very low acidity. (I am afraid because I tested positive for Covid the day I received this in the mail, I may not be tasting all this coffee has to offer).
Good initial acidity with strong dark chocolate/cocoa notes. Don’t really get much of the stone fruit it mentions on the bag. Initial brew was too thin, but making it stronger improved the cup immensely. Probably closer to a 4.5/5 once I brewed it strong, a 3/5 when I brewed it weak.
Delicious, balanced and highly caffeinated
Great strong flavor
This was fine.
I prefer a pure dark roast with bold flavor. Nothing with a hint of fruit flavor.
Dana & AJ
Had to grind very fine. But super yummy
We love this one!!
Mild, smooth, and not bitter.
Loved this coffee
Nice and robust with layered flavor without being roasted to dark.
Love it, this is one of my favorites! Very smooth, would definitely order again.
Nothing special! Just Diner Coffee. Boring and bland!
Not bad somewhat smooth no bitterness
My wife particularly liked this. She said it made a good, smooth espresso.
Really good dark roast
It is very similar to the Mexican Chiapas that I regularly drink.
Not for me, too fruity and tart. Maybe it's the chocolate?
Update: ground more coarsely and had better results. V60
Burnt notes overwhelm. One star from me.
Solid cup of coffee
Loved this so much. Amazing flavor.
smooth and one note. Toffee sweetness up front.
Very smooth, delicious
Really enjoyed this one! It tasted less acidic to me and can definitely tell that the coffee is "Balanced". Loved the flavors too.
This one is slightly bitter, not bold enough for my taste.
Did not like all
Great base flavor. Seems to weaken fast over a couple of weeks, though.
I think the name says it all. It's a little Driftless in taste. I liked it just ok.
want a break from this coffee please
A little boring to me.
It fits it's profile of cozy, unassuming, and balanced quite well. It has a satisfying, smooth flavor without an overbearing personality.
Nothing special about this coffee.
Probably my all time favorite coffee. It tasted amazingly creamy!
Maybe the most delicious coffee I’ve had in a couple of years from Mistobox.
A mild and lively (love the contradiction) cup of coffee.
My favorite coffee so far!
Coffee was ok. A bit flat but nutty and medium-mild. We brewed by drip.
Need to change back to good review. My mistake. The excellent review was for Big Dipper.
The best coffee I've had in several months. Dark and tasty but with a layer of complexity that let the roast shine through a bit. Good stuff.
Perfect dark blend, no bitterness and smooth taste!
A little on the acidic side, but good, rich flavors that line up with the description. Nothing challenging, but a satisfying cup.
Balanced - perfect description. Try it for a standard weekday morning brew. Needs a bit more personality if you're looking for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Didn't like it. Bitter aftertaste.
Excellent coffee. Really well balanced. This will continue to be an everyday coffee for the wifey and myself.
Excellent aroma and taste! Love the cocoa.
Nice flavor pretty much as described.
Hi Bailey. We didn't like the sharp smell and thin, papery taste. It was too mild; we like a richer, bolder, dark-roast coffee. Tasting notes (still figuring out the "wheel") we look for are chocolate, dark chocolate and even vanilla. We stay away from the fruity, vegetative coffees (the yellow, green and blue inner part of the wheel), the "Other" flavors, and the nuts and brown spices (10 o'clock position on the wheel). On the positive side - I think right now we're looking for a dark roast in the Honey through Chocolate part of the wheel and welcome your suggestions. Thanks!
A light weight flavor of coffee that is refreshing release from the daily cup of coffee. Minimal acid, slightly on the fine grind for paper filters.
My favorite by far
It has that sweet or caramel aftertaste I can’t describe.
It’s a little weak for me
Dark without being burnt. Made delicious iced mocha lattes. Really nice mouth feel, didn't give me heartburn.
Chocolate and butterscotch flavors meld in a solid body. Smooth. Very good warm and room temp, not good cold.
Rich flavor, rich mouthfeel
This is the best coffee we have had so far!! My husband didn’t think he’d be a fan of anything with toffee or caramel notes, but this coffee quickly rose to the top!
Full Bodied. Rich. Very Good.
Not as smooth as the other coffees I’ve had. Has a more tart taste.
This was so nice, really lovely and mellow with a gentle sweetness. I could definitely call this the platonic ideal coffee.
Seemed run of the mill and lacked body or any interesting qualities.
Good but wasn’t huge on the flavor profile
I goofed up a cup of this coffee today (walked away from a pour over and forgot about it for almost 2 mins before resuming) and it was still delicious.
It was tough on this coffee to strike the right balance. Tried a few different variations - lower water temperature, coarser grinds. With longer brew time, hotter water, this coffee came off very acidic and bitter. The opposite made it too mellow with not much depth.
A little more acidic than I prefer
Bland and weak
Loved this coffee, ground it a bit finer than others, and it was delicious
70g beans with 1 liter of water; brewed in Chemex
Not a bad coffee, but nothing really stands out about it. Similar to mid-grade grocery store coffees.
Delicate taste, not too bitter or tart, soft chocolate notes. Easy to drink, but balanced by not a strong flavor profile.
As soon as I opened this bag I knew I was going to be enjoying a great cup of coffee. It was rich, smooth but full of body. Please put this back in my rotation.
This is a fantastic coffee! We love the sweetness, the caramel notes are very distinct, but it also still has a great “coffee” flavor. Reminds us of the first coffee we ever experienced using a French Press at a friend’s house; the coffee was already ground in an unlabeled container and they couldn’t remember the brand, we’ve been chasing it ever since!
prefer a stronger coffee
I struggle to get this to not taste of dirt
Very balanced and low acidity. I've realized the smoothness and low acidity is probably most important for me!
