This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Kaldi's Coffee Roasting Co. will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
The Birds & Bees was carefully roasted for you by Kaldi's Coffee Roasting Co. A South and Central American blend of certified Organic and Fair Trade coffees, this cup is fantastically bold, with notes of caramel, toast, and roasted nuts.
I normally don't like lighter roast, but full flavor and pretty good.
Peanuts, wheat toast, very dark chocolate
I liked it but didn't love it. It didn't feel a complex as I'd like though i appreciate the lack of bitterness.
Smoothest of the coffees. Nice flavor.
It was alright, nothing to write home about.
Deliciously bold to start, smooth caramel middle, and perfectly nutty finish! This coffee is a winner with me!
It was okay. It didn't have much of a different taste to me than Folger's "Black Silk" blend. Actually I may like the Folgers better - which says everything I need to say. I would rather have this however than, say, Gas station coffee.
This one seems to be very acidic for me
Seemed a little bitter
Favorite so far. Great for cold brew
My favourite one so far!
caramel and nutty, but not so much bold. smooth, good flavor. very nice to drink
Great coffee, the best so far. Excellent flavor, not bitter at all. It could be a little bolder, but I'll take the low bitterness instead.
A good overall cup of coffee.
The coffee is just OK. It’s not bad but it’s the worst one we’ve had so far.
It was far too weak a brew
Very smooth. A great light roast.
I love this coffee! It has an immediate burst of flavor then mellows. I would definitely choose this again, love the Carmel notes.
Also kinda good.
Very delicious and smooth
Like the roast for espresso and chemex- warm and not too smoky or like tobacco.
Extremely well balanced!
i liked the lighter roast of this one
Too acidic for me
This doesn't stand out as memorable for me.
My absolute favorite so far! If there are more like this I would love to try them! Thank you
The brew process in both French press and chemex yielded a very tea-like, light coffee. The flavor is good, but it certainly could be bolder.
Honestly, I don't remember this blend, sorry.
Made this at home in a Chemex and drip and thought it was great. Brought it to my Mother's on Christmas - she stands by Starbucks at home - and she was BLOWN AWAY. I gave her the rest because it made her so happy. Thanks!
Light roast with subtle flavors. My husband usually prefers dark roast, but he liked this one. Great for pour over.
You could not take this cup of coffee away from me if you tried- initial aromas of caramel candies and roasted nuts jump out of the cup, flavors which develop into intense versions of themselves upon sipping. The perfect amount of acidity and a surprising amount of bold flavor for this roast, I will definitely be searching this coffee out for a daily drinker!
Not real distinct, but very nice and balanced coffee.
This one was ok. Solid but unremarkable, and a bit more bitter than I'd like.
Wonderfully flavorful with a gentle, pleasant aroma. This was a joy to brew and drink.
forgot to take good notes on this one, but it was totally fine.
too much of the same thing every morning doesn't fair for a great review... I still lean towards a coffee that has berry undertones... something to surprise me rather than something balanced
All around a good cup of coffee, but lighter than what we usually drink. Once we adjusted the grind we were very happy with the result.
LOVED IT! - Everyone that tried it loved it! It quite strong and bold - just as described. Was hard to make a bad cup of this.
A touch too bold!
Even my unsophisticated coffee palate could taste the cocoa flavor. This coffee seemed more sensitive than others to adjustments in brewing, just a small change in grind or tamping had a noticeable impact on the final result. When I got it right it was wonderful.
It’s good, kinda light but I like it
like the smoothness to it , low acid. nutty caramel great!
I need something darker, please
Didn’t really like this. Pretty nutty
A little too floral with our drip coffee, but we enjoyed the low acidity.
This is my favorite so far! I liked how rich and heavy this tasted.
The aroma when opening the bag was amazing with deep chocolate as well as a hint of marzipan.
This one is the textbook definition of coffee. It’s flavorful and balanced. Some might call it boring, but for me, it’s a coffee I could drink every day.
Nothing too special about this coffee. Tastes like a standard coffee shop roast. Not something I would go out of my way for, but it does the job!
Yummy light but can be made strong. Don’t over do it or it’ll be bitter
A good coffee, but not as flavorful as I'd hoped
A bit too light in the roast
LOVE this one!
This is a great, pretty normal coffee. I couldn't tell a ton of difference between this and our usual.
Very good. Similar flavor profile to Huck.
Very odd taste, very bitter
This coffee starts very smooth, but it does not have much of a taste. Tasted on the back of my tongue, I get more of the toast notes but not much else. In addition, this coffee sours fairly quickly.
Lovely coffee with wonderful nutty notes. Not too acidic and not bitter at the same time.
Extremely tasteful. I usually stay away from 'nutty' flavors but with the additional of 'caramel' helps balance it out.
My favorite coffee thus far. Phonemonal flavor and body when brewed in the chemex. More like this please.
This is very nice, bright coffee to begin the day with.
My favorite coffee so far
Smell was fantastic but taste like expensive McDonalds coffee.
A bit sour for me.
Its ok, nothing special, like a normal cup of coffee.
I suppose I would need to describe this coffee as "well balanced", but it really did not have much that stood out to me as far as tasting notes go, good or bad. Quite light in flavor in fact, even with tweaking toward a stronger ratio than I usually would.
I like this. It’s smooth and surprisingly bold for a lighter roast. It isn’t as complex or full-bodied as some of my French roasts, but it is so easy to drink and a nice change of pace
Nice deep flavor. well balanced
Nasty. I do not like light coffee and my profile reflects this. I do not know why I received this style of coffee. I am very disappointed.
Acidity was subtle, which we liked a lot. Definitely found those nutty notes, too. This was a good one!
Really good, light acidity. Not great espresso
I really liked the body of the coffee and the flavor notes. It was easy to drink both black and with a little cream.
Did not taste as strong as the first shipment of coffee
Level of acidity is perfect!
not a bad coffee, just not my favorite
A bit more acidic than the others that I liked.
Took me a bit to dial in my grind size for this bag but It's a solidly decent coffee for me. I'd probably rate it as a 3.5/5 if I could as I felt It could have a little more going on than it did.
This is definitely a coffee I would purchase and enjoy. We liked the flavor.
little too light for me
Nutty. Good coffee
Drank this without cream. Very good, was just right in boldness.
A little on the lighter/floral side. Liked but didn't love. Prefer more of a heavy dark coffee to a light nutty/floral one.
I switched to a burr grinder and it definitely made a difference. Pretty good, but I think I liked the last blend better than this one. I would probably prefer something a little bit richer/darker.
Probably one of my most favorite coffees I’ve tried!
Did not taste bold. Flavors seemed muted and not very strong. It was ok. Tasted more like a medium to light roast.
Tasted good. But nothing over the top special about it. I would drink it again though. Looking for something a little different than normal stuff.
The flavors and notes in this one were great, but for some reason it wasn't as bold as I would expect. I even tried brewing some pots in my chemex extra strong, and it still just didn't quite seem like it was enough. But I still give it 5 stars because I kept wanting more!
I normally do not like medium roasts, but really enjoyed the flavor of this one. Did not have the biting acidity? that I do not like with medium roasts. Subtle sweet flavor was a lot of fun.
liked it a lot
Loved this. Brewed in a drip and a k cup. Good flavor.
Nice! balanced brew
I thought it was average.
Pretty one note, just getting some acidity without noticeable undertones. Not bad, just meh.
Enjoyed this coffee. Well balanced and bolder flavors then the first two.
Good, but not as heavy or roasty as I usually like it. Bit more acidic, but interesting flavor notes. Definitely toasty/nutty, would just prefer a bit more body and slightly less acidity (but enjoyed this overall!).
I'm happy with this bag of coffee and thought it was good. I did enjoy the Day Tripper Blend better but I can't say exactly why. Maybe a bit less bold?
My favorite roast so far. Smooth tasting with a little bit of sweetness. Overall, just a well rounded good coffee, not too bitter, not to acidic. The finer grind around 8 with a shorter seep time gave me the best results.
Ashlynn Rickord and
A great, wonderfully aromatic coffee that drinks smooth.
Really loved this one. This and the Day Tripper blend have be questioning my usual tendencies to go for very bold dark roasts. I really enjoyed the balance of smooth drinkability while still having some bold flavors in this one.
This was a nice fit for me. I normally go really dark. This leans more in the medium direction but it's got the roundness of flavor I expect from a dark. It can be over steeped but it's reasonably fault tolerant. I enjoyed some of the brighter, less earthy flavors as a change of pace from my usual. It takes cram and sugar really well and will probably mostly drink it that way, rather than black.
LIked the flavor but not enough full body -- this grew on me once i started brewing it stronger (took a lot more beans tho!)
Liked the Carmel Notes
Nice but a bit too bright
Smelled like mildew. Tasted a bit nutty, but mostly just burnt.
True medium roast. You get a strong cinnamon, nuts, and sugar aroma with the beans/ grinds. That translates to a medium body, flavor, roast, and oiliness. It finishes a bit sweet and is a solid every down cup of coffee. Definitely an afternoon cup to restart after lunch.
A bit too light and a bit too acidic for our taste.
This one was good, not quite as good as the Dillanos previous.
This was magnificent. Beautiful caramel notes. & the coffee was bold deep & complex.
Just ok too watery/bland
Although I could see the coffee as being good for someone who enjoys its notes, I myself do not like the strong but flavor, or the overly bitter taste.
Although I get some of the caramel notes, its not enough for me to sign off on this brand/roast. Would skip this in the future.
Rich and well balanced. An excellent cup of coffee, one of my all time favorite.
I'm not really a fan of the nutty flavors.
It did not work well as an espresso, so I used my french press instead.
Overall a good coffee. A little acidic for my taste.
Very good. I normally don't like fruity notes, but these were suuuuper subtle. One of my favorites so far!
This was a light blend and my husband prefers dark roast
I usually love Kaldi but this one is a little too light and citrusy on the finish for me
Fine, enjoyed this more than the previous coffee that was sent. Nothing stood out as remarkable about this, but I did appreciate the body and nuttier character.
Favorite so far. Great brew!
didn't like this one. Don't like the caramel
Not my favorite
Middle of the road
Not my type.
Much tastier than first shipment! No bitterness.
A little *too* dark and toasty for my tastes.
Not my favorite but still good. Certainly taste the notes, just a little light for my taste.
Definitely not bold.
Love the environmental impact!
Too fruity for me. Will not finish the bag. Nice try though.
Reminds me of the honey cured beans where they leave some of the pulp on in drying process. Not a fan.
A bit milder than I like but still good.
Tastes too burnt
my favorite so far!
please remove did not like
Was only OK. I liked the first coffee better.
Not my favorite
Tasty coffee but could be overly bitter/acidic at times.
I don’t like this at all
I did not like this coffee at all.
Rather simple profile, not bad, not great...
Didn't look like or taste like a dark roast. Fine but not for me
This coffee was less bold then previous coffees we have received. In general it was just unremarkable.
Mediocre. Good standard coffee. Just not my preference. Trader Jose's Vanilla from Costco is much better (to me); and certainly less expensive.
Decent cup, but thin, and tastes too bitter and astringent at first. I've been trying to dial this one in on my grinder and unlike the 4 or 5 star rated beans I've received in the past, I just can't get this one to a good spot.
Other than that, the flavors are decent and it picks up some nice caramel notes once it cools a bit.
I don't know what the flavor notes are in this coffee, but they are strange. Sort of earthy, but not in a good way for me. I definitely don't get "bold with notes of caramel" or roasted nuts. Toast, maybe. It smells strange, it tastes strange... this is only my second complete miss from Mistobox, but please don't send me another one like this.
Not that rich of a flavor
This cup was fine. A little too caramel for me. I think I’d prefer something more fruity. I wouldn’t order again.
Didn’t like it much except about of the Aeropress.
It was pretty good, I liked the nutty with the chocolate!
My favorite so far, love the deep flavor this one has.
Great flavor. Brewed well in multiple ways. Nice sweetness and enjoyed the slight acidity
A little too fruity and bright for my espresso taste. was good in aeropress
Seemed to fit the trend
This one is good and refreshing with an easy light taste, but I think I prefer the fruit flavors over the nutty. Still really enjoy this one though.
strong and flavorful, but i like slightly sweeter and fruitier blends
a little more acidic than we generally like our coffee.
Only half the household enjoyed this one. A bit too bitter for those of us looking for a smoother mouthfeel. The other half enjoyed its sharpness. So, depending on your tastes - this may be for you.
I liked this coffee. It had an interesting caramel/fruity note that I actually really enjoyed!
This one was quite tasty!
Nutty and yummy!
It was a decent coffee. A little too bitter for my liking and I couldn’t really pick up on the caramel notes.
I tried to make cappuccino and latte out of this, from then forward, it tasted like bananas. Very off putting.
Liked it, but on the darker side.
Too full body and dark roasted
Brewed this in my cold brew pitcher and it was very flavorful. Could taste the caramel and toasted notes. Very bold and full bodied.
Solid. No real complaints.
Okay, wasn’t too crazy about the flavor
I loved this coffee's flavors!
Love the taste! Very smooth.
It just isn’t for me. The roast is darker than what I typically go for, so I wasn’t a huge fan.
Smokey and Bitter.
Excellence balance. I enjoyed this one.
Flavor was good, when I could taste it - i would have guessed it was a light - medium roast, not a medium to dark. Would not call it bold
Ok, but a bit on the fruity side to me. Didn't really get the caramel nutty flavor so much.
Great flavor, not bitter. Smooth finish.
This is good, but not my favorite. I little boring and I'm not getting "bold" from this coffee.
Very dark and bitter-not much flavor past this unfortunately.
Very strong taste coffee, a bit too bold and bitter for my taste
Not my favorite
Overroasted. Coffee tastes burnt. Made the same way as all other coffee I make.
did not care for the flavor
Lighter in flavor than I normally prefer, but definitely tasty.
Nice roast, I liked the profile of the coffee taste.
Nice flavor. Not too bitter or sour
I found this to be a bit weak, thin.
Maybe a hair dark but it wasn't bad.
solid nutty taste, noticed slight hints of caramel
Breville dual boiler espresso. Double shot with 1/2 c of soy milk. Excellent crema. Smooth drinker, very bold with lots of caramel and nutty notes. Delicious.
Nutty; pretty smooth.
This one is slightly better than the last one.
Not as good as the last 2. Not much flavor and needs to be a bit more bold.
not good. also had roast date of July 2018 but shipped to me in Sept!
Easy drinking, nice full flavors for a medium blend
This is a really wonderful coffee just as described - caramel, nutty & bold. I'm definitely going to request this one again.
I really didn't like my first cup, it seemed weak and I agree with the reviewer who said it felt very thin. However, this coffee grew on me over time. It was much better in the frnch press and I found that once I used a finer grind it was fairly decent.
too dark for me
enjoyed - wasn't blown away
I enjoyed the strong chocolate notes when cold brewed, but found the pour over results underwhelming.
Thin mouthfeel, if that makes sense, brought this one down for me.
One of my favorites for sure! Great balanced flavor. Slightly nutty, roasted/toasted flavor but not burned.
A little too nutty, but enjoyed the lightly sweet caramel.
Couldn't get a good shot from this coffee. A bit boring.
One of my favorite coffees so far. Perfect roast, nice and smooth. Tasted great in a moka pot, drip brew and french press.
This is an excellent coffee. Has a smooth syrupy mouth-feel with a slight sweet finish. I can hear my wife saying "mmmmm" after each sip from the other room.
Too bold for my taste. Would't care to ever get/try this one again.
Nice flavors - bright, bold, somewhat roasted-nuts/toast. Balanced and smooth flavors, not sharp/acidic or bitter.
Caramel flavor was too strong. Caramel is good b
This is definitely our favorite so far!
Smooth and well-balanced.
Loved this one !
Well balanced, not too overwhelming . Caramel notes came through
a little too dark for my taste
I would order this again. Though it's bold it doesn't over power the flavors that come through. I swear overtime I had a cup, I would note a different taste. FUN!
Love this coffee!! Great toasty and nutty flavor, brews super well as a pour over. No bitterness, perfectly balanced and bold!
Enjoyed the bold flavors of caramel & toast.
I liked this almost as much as Verve
We liked this one! Flavors are strong, but it was still an easy cup to drink. While we had been feeling overwhelmed by all the caramel in the past coffees - this one didn't seem to overpower the taste at all. Some cups did taste a little bitter, but nothing to make us dislike it overall.
Full flavor, but a little harsh/burnt tasting.
We liked the notes of this coffee.
This was an ok coffee for me. I like dark and nutty so this held up to cream well. Wasn't bitter or astringent at all. I wouldn't order it again tho.
Has a little small after taste not sure about
Very well balanced. Full mouth feel. We enjoyed this a lot!
This one was a hit with the lab!
Love the smokey sweetness, one of my favorites so far
this is OK in espresso but excellent in regular coffee, so much so that I think I will be brewing with mostly pour-over method with this batch. the flavors are strong, well-balanced, with a sweet but not over-powering after taste.
At first sip, it was nice but the finish is a little too bright/sour.
Delicious blend that got better towards the end of the bag; however, I believe these beans were a little over-roasted.
Despite the description I don't find this to be bold. I wasn't wowed by the flavor. In fact, I found it quite mild.
Flavor was great and also produced a very "creamy" espresso.
This is still bad and not close to what I have commented that my like is for the taste and the roast...
Meredith & Nathan
We have REALLY loved these beans! Misto nailed our preferences perfectly with this shipment. Not too bitter and though this description lists it as a dark roast, it's definitely closer to a medium. Our favorite blend thus far.
This coffee was outstanding. It was very well balanced and smooth. Enjoyed this blend very much.
The coffee does have a very good bold taste nutty taste. However, seems like it's missing something. Perhaps if the beans were a darker roast it will give it the spicier taste its missing.
good but nothing amazing
excellent balance. like my cup slightly fruitier, but all in all super delicious
Man I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't get this to taste right. I think it was maybe just a little dark for my taste.
Loved this coffee! Definitely had the flavor profile I like and was super drinkable. I did notice that the texture of the coffee was a little thin. Would be good to try a coffee that is just one type (not a blend) and has a little more "oomph" or body to it in the texture. Loving what I've tried to far!
I liked this better than the first coffee. Both struck me as being light and pleasant, this coffee a little less so, but I think I'd like to move on to something with a stronger flavor profile
Good cup of coffee
I found this coffee relatively mild compared to my traditional daily brew. Good caramel taste, but I think I want something darker and more chocolate like for my home cup. I took this on vacation with me for several days, and it was the perfect travel brew. Without access to a scale, I was able to make a consistently good brew. I would give this coffee a 3.5 for home use and a 4 on the road.
This is more my style! I love the dark, bold flavor while still not being a true dark roast. The caramel flavor is nice too. This is the area of flavor that I'm looking for. Would like to try a couple more similar to this flavor profile.
Way too bold. Not a fan.
I prefer the first coffee over this one, though I'm not sure how to articulate why. This one was more bland, by comparison.
I feel like this tastes very similar to the last coffee you sent. It is nice and mild, not too bitter and just the right amount of sweet. Goes down easy
Better than previous. Slightly burnt. Prefer less oil on the surface to prevent clogs in grinder. Maybe slightly burnt.
Not as good as the first, a little on the bitter side and the flavor wasn't as full as I would like, doesn't quite pack a punch - 3.5 Stars
Did not like
this has been my favorite so far
Smooth and enjoyable. I liked the darkness. I typically enjoy coffees that are fruity, like Ethiopians.
Bland & light
Delicious blend - really enjoyed the caramel notes in this coffee!
notes of caramel and nuts were great, coffee tasted good too but ultimately my everyday calls for a little less bold.
Liked it, but wasn't quite as bold as I thought.
A very standard medium/dark roast coffee. I found this roast to be a bit on the burnt but not overwhelmingly so.
I really like this coffee. It tasted very "standard" and no-nonsense. Probably one of the best day-to-day, routine types of coffee. Something I would enjoy everyday for breakfast.
pretty smooth but has a bitter aftertaste
Really good cup of coffee!
Very good, flavorful and smooth. Best one yet!
I like this coffee but I have to add 10 gm more of coffee to get a decent brew. I like a richer coffee.
Beautiful bloom and rich flavor. Low acidity which I loved. Hint of toast and nuts was perfect for the fall weather.
Decent flavor, but making it pour over or French press yields a very sour taste.
This coffee has a nice bloom, and brews up nutty and just a little smoky without being too bitter.
Definitely darker than our first selection, which we loved! Could even be a little darker and bolder. We love the richness of this coffee.
Great cup of coffee! Smooth, rich & bold
Love the flavor and smell. By far my favorite.
It was a little too much toasted flavor for my likes.
This just wasn't doing anything for me.
This coffee tastes and smells great at first, but I find a bitter aftertaste. It seemed a little too strong for my preference, so I tried grinding it a little coarser, and tried using a little less than usual....but that bitter aftertaste is still there.
The caramel notes definitely come through, but this one has a touch more bitterness/roastiness than we generally prefer, and it lingers as an aftertaste.
One of my favorites so far. Kicks strong, tastes strong, and is bold without being bitter. This is what I look for with coffee.
delicious. I love the low acidity. Very smooth with some nutty flavor. Would love something just a LITTLE stronger but scared to try anything new because this is so smooth and tasty! Seth I would love a perfect 5...you up for the challenge??
Really like it, especially for pour over and ice coffee
To me, the coffee seems, "watery", even when adding extra beans. The roasted nut flavor is not as strong as I would like it to be.
Awesome, just like the rest of Kaldi's.
This coffee is the MVP of the coffee world. It’s not trying to be anything except what it is – extraordinary coffee. No hints of this, undercurrents of that, or aroma of the other. Full bodied, with a nutty aftertaste. Overall smooth and not too bitter or acidic. 10/10 will drink again.
Right balance on acidity and darkness. Flavorful to boot.
Somewhat a "green" aroma and flavor, not a rich tasting coffee, somewhat bland
Great overall taste, but could be just a bit darker.
We may have to change our subscription settings. This too was a little too mild and sweet.
Good coffee for anytime.
I really liked this one. Real nutty, and goes well with breakfast in the morning (usually toast and eggs). Made with Aeropress, inverted.
I enjoyed this coffee. I still don't have much to baseline it with, but it was very flavorful and bold. So far, so good!
What a great package design. The coffee is definitely bold and rich. It goes down smoothly and has a nutty decadence that is perfect for early morning sipping with mug in one hand and book in the other.
Smooth coffe with hints of caramel, nuts, and molasses. Those looking for a milder dark coffee should love this blend. Rating 4.0
Unfortunately this coffee was not for me. To me, it has a marshmallow aspect that I did not care for. I'm sure there are others that will love it, however.
This was good, but lacked the depth we are looking for.
Jackie and Nicko
sweet , carmel notes - not my favorite as i like the deep, earthy notes
but still a good cup
Lynn and Guerry
This is a great cuppa. dark, full body, no bitterness. we are completely enjoying it.
This one was a little mild for me. Still very good. It will not go to waste
Great refreshing coffee, one of my favorite so far.
Great pourover coffee. Clean and sweet with great body. Loved it.
