This is the Guatemalan Atitlán brought to you by Noble Coffee Roasting. This collection of Bourbon, Caturra, and Typica varieties of coffee was grown by the Chochajau Co-op in San Juan La Laguna, near Lake Atitlán in the Sololá Department of Guatemala. With flavor notes of vanilla, caramel, red apple, mango, milk chocolate, and coconut, this coffee is both complex and approachable.
Dark and bold with creamy taste. Great first choice of coffee!
Very much dark fruit with little sweetness and some cocoa finish, but a much darker flavor profile than I prefer this time of year.
Used Lance Hedrick's 121 pourover technique; strong red apple and caramel flavors every time; coconut aroma from fresh beans, but I couldn't detect them in the brews. It's a very nice brew, albeit not as complex (to me) as advertised.
Really, really enjoyed our Guatemalan Atitlan coffee, from the aroma opening the bag, to the last taste ... so wonderful. I'm still learning the 'taste definitions', but just so enjoyed it ... wow !!!
