This is the Colombia Mejor brought to you by Panther Coffee Roasters. Mejor, meaning ‘best’ in Spanish, is a regional blend of coffees from smallholder producers around Popayán in the department of Cauca, Colombia. These farmers grow Castillo coffee on small plots of land- typically only one or two hectares. These coffees are processed in the washed method and dried on tables at the farm. Notes of sweet cherry, citrus, and milk chocolate combine with great intensity of flavor and a lingering sweetness.
Really great. As advertised. Very bright, citrus, Cherry, juicy. Clear.
I think this one is a little too dark tasting for me. Has some nice flavors and occasionally I get some really great cherry citrus on the side but not my favorite overall.
The flavors were not as intense as I had expected or what I am used to. I appreciate the subtlety of coffee over espresso, but I'm still looking for a bit of intensity of the flavor. I did not pick up as much fruit as I was looking for. I would give this one 2.5 stars (versus 2 or 3), as it is slightly better than the Ethiopia Kershanshe Uraga that I received after this.
This one was really good. Darker than I normally go for, but maybe that is because I associate darker coffees with being bitter, which this wasn't.
Difficult to get dialed on espresso machine. Didn’t get much fruity flavor from it
I get a lot of the chocolate/cherry, but not much citrus. Not for me.
Very nice and light. Not too much citrus which is nice.
Compex, rich brew
Darker than I would prefer.
Loved this, got more apricot than clove out of this one. I brewed at 40g of beans per 1035ml water.
This coffee is excellent. It works very well as espresso. The flavors are bold, bright and balanced. I definitely get the sweetness as well. More like this one, please!
