This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Huckleberry Roasters will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
The Phantom Limb Blend was carefully roasted for you by Huckleberry Roasters. This is Huckleberry's seasonal blend that rotates throughout the year to highlight wild, fruit forward flavors. It changes components frequently and therefore, each version is a little different than the last. This blend is currently comprised of two Ethiopian offerings, one naturally processed and one washed. These coffees play off of each other to create a unique cup full of vibrant citrus, juicy berries, floral aroma and a subtle cocoa finish.
Really enjoyed this! I was hesitant based on some of the reviews, but it was one of my favorites. Really like everything from this roaster.
Fruitiest coffee I’ve ever had! Fantastic!
LOVE this blend!
one of my fav coffes of all time
My favorite to date!
As a half natural, this is a very fruit forward and floral coffee. A little out of balance with how strong the natural beans are and I found myself adding to the coffee to try and subdue the brightness.
Very good selection, makes good cold brew
loved it. I noticed more of the cocoa than the fruit.
Huge favorite. We finished this bag in a week and a half!
A tricky blend to pull a clean shot with, but very bright and fruity when done right.
Not crazy about fruit forward. Smelled good though!
Delicious, flavorful. Nice.
I thought it was too fruity. Prefer a nuttier or chocolate taste
Very distinct flavor and nice hints of fruit throughout.
This was a good morning drink.
Not sure how I got tagged to receive a fruity, citrus coffee, but I have never cared for it so I am not the best to rate it.
It tastes a little too bitter to me
I've tried several grinds for this coffee and I can't seem to get it right. It makes me think I'm just not a fan of this coffee.
I really like the flavor and aroma of this one
Odd, super strong fruity flavor at the beginning like goji berries maybe. The rest of the flavor was delightful and not at all bitter, but the initial flavor was too overwhelming
Very balanced Ethiopia blend - would drink again
Very tasty notes, especially with a touch of cream. Just a little too acidic but flavors were great.
I have enjoyed this coffee so far. I like the distinct, flavorful palette, however, I don’t think I lean as far towards fruity, light roasts as I do less acidic coffees.
I’d love to try a variety through this and help define my palette.
Great choice to start, I look forward to exploring more coffees!
Fruity, light and delicious with strong chocolate notes. Great blend
Very good but a little more fruity than I prefer.
Too bitter for my taste
The blueberry here was overwhelming
Overall not bad - but in the B range.. It became too acidity when I drank more than 1 cup. Observed then the need for more sugar and the mildly sour aftertaste
Extremely bright and fruity notes make for one of the best blended coffees I've had in a very long time. Delicate berry with a nice hint of sweet cacao.
Nice flavor with a cocoa finish
Liked the fruity notes, but a bit too much acid
Lovely blend, tasteful and elegant. Brilliant cup for the morning
fruity and acidic
I liked it! An interesting taste I haven't had before. UPDATE: After a new cup I liked it even more, so this is really close to perfect!
I thought the Phantom Limb blend was a pretty decent cup of coffee. I enjoyed the fruity notes. I appreciated that it isn't too fruity and still had a good balance of bright and dark flavors!
Really enjoying this kind of roast! There is potential that due to my brewing process I am getting a lot of the cocoa note, but I am wishing for more of the fruit.
It was an excellent cup of coffee with cream. It was a little darker than I am used to but after a few days it grew on me and i loved the fruity notes
Delicious! Very smooth with low acidity.
very weak & bland
I don’t love it.
Solid blend, Huck always comes through.
Loved the light flavors!
A little stale, not very flavorful.
Maybe too much Starbucks and peet's has damaged my coffee taste buds towards a delicate coffee. I could not adjust to to this
bean and having tried it with french press and espresso machine. i guess I need coffee with a bite versus fruity taste.
The coffee was great. I loved the flavor it had and there was no after taste. I was very pleased with this choice.
I really liked this roast. It wasn't too strong tasting. Unfortunately, I have been thinking about this for a long time...I don't know how to describe my tastes in complex products. For example, I know what wine I like, but I can't tell if I'm tasting fruity, oaky, dry, etc. The one thing I can tell is how sweet something is, therefore I do not like white zinfindel. But, I don't know what the specific blended tastes are in the wine. Back to coffee, I have never sat down and drank coffee in a flight with someone explaining them to know whether I like chocolately, fruity, or nutty.... I love nuts, especially hazelnut! I like chocolate when combined with nuts, but not alone, therefore I do not eat plain chocolate bars, chocolate ice cream, or chocolate mousse. I do not like fruity wines or fruity pies or a lot of fruit compote/jelly. BUT, I absolutely love this coffee and can't get a enough of it and it says its fruity/citrus/bright. I'm stumped for now.
Too bright, not a fan of the sort-of sour taste that seems to come with bright coffees.
This is the first coffee that I've had that I actually enjoyed drinking black. It works really well with my French press. I could even detect the fruity notes they talk about.
I enjoyed this coffee - both with and without creamer. The roast was just right - on the lighter side which I prefer. It had a smooth taste with a fruity after taste. I would consider this a dessert coffee also.
I brewed this coffee in a drip pot set on medium drip using about 1T grounds per generous cup of water (8 oz). I will use a little more grounds (or less water) next pot to see how the coffee tastes.
Something about the coffee just seems super acidic. While I enjoy this coffee, it's acidity and strange smell are somewhat off putting
A little too fruity for me!
This one arrived and I was delighted with its fruit forward flavors. I tasted a little cocoa flavor, but not as much as I think I like.
I love it!
I am still new to coffee connoisseurship (or connoisseur anything really), but I do recognize this as "Ethiopian" in flavor, which I really like for a change of pace, and I thought this was a very good Ethiopian coffee. (I'm just leaving room for better in the 5 stars in case something wows me.)
Very smooth taste. Low acidity! I enjoy a bold blonde roast too so maybe this roast was a bit mild for me.
I bought this subscription for my fiancee. She wants me to continue to surprise her with coffee choices.
She said this was by far the best coffee she has ever tasted. Loves the flavor.she's hoping to try all sorts of coffees. Hope that help.
Smooth and vibrant. A bit too fruity and floral for me, but that's the right direction.
Really enjoyed the sweet and juicy notes but was hard to replicate consistently with my setup.
Very balanced cup of coffee. Didn't pull many strong flavors out of it, but felt that it was solid
It was to sour. I actually don’t think I like fruity.
Excellent cup of coffee. Brewed with AeroPress.
Sweet berry kisses
Dance mellow in winter light
Tea-like as the spring
Didn’t like the fruity notes as much as I thought. Light roast was good though.
Not fond of the fruity flavor.
I enjoyed the acidity and the blueberry notes, which makes it interesting and different. The beans were fresh and well roasted. I recently noticed a change in the taste of the beans (more bitter) after a week but it may be too early to tell.
The flavor, while unique, feels more appropriate to a tea than it is a coffee. The fruit/earthy flavors overpower any coffee taste. I would prefer something more "coffee," especially first thing in the morning. The wife complained of an aftertaste as well, though I did not notice this.
Overall I thought it tasted great. I could definitely taste the fruit flavor in the coffee. The level of roast was perfect as well.
It was ok. It was too much citrus. I think I prefer nutty notes. I am excited to taste my
Flavorful and not bitter at all. Great aftertaste.
Not remarkable, but a great and enjoyable coffee. The flavor profile is in line with my preferences.
Liked the roast level. Enjoyed the fruity flavors. The fruity notes were maybe a little stronger then I prefer. Overall it was a good coffee!
Bright and fruity flavors with a nice, lingering finish. Loved it!
This blend was just alright... When I had it fresh earlier in the year in Denver at their shop it was off the charts amazing, not sure what the difference was.
Solid coffee. Light, citrus with good all around coffee flavor.
The 1st cup i had, i tasted a little nutty, floral taste. As i drank more it started to taste like berry. Dont think i am a big fan of fruity, but i loved how smooth and complex it was.
loved how light it was
This is good, but I think I'd prefer something less fruity/acidic, with more chocolate and/or nutty flavors.
Light, but very flavorful. Loved it!!
Loved the light, airy texture along with the fruity taste. Great coffee!
Very excellent coffee! It had fruity notes of blueberry and was very unique.
Light and airy! Great flavor and perfect on a cold morning.
It was a little sour and had a weird after taste. I still liked the initial taste though.
It smelled so delicious! Absolutely in love. I would love more blends like this.
Enjoyable to drink, but my preference is a little bit more roasty.
Delicious, almost floral, definitely bright and smooth. A step above the usual breakfast blends but perfect in the morning with any kind of food. Adding milk/cream brought out the fruit flavors which was almost like a desert.
Tons of Ethiopian style blueberry on the nose and on first sip. A touch of lemon as it cooled, but this one is all about the berry flavor. The coffee finishes sweet, but a bit flat. I wish the citrus lingered a bit longer. Pleasant to drink, but I wish it had more depth.
Balanced. Fruity. Sweet. Smooth.
Hard to rate since it was the first bag with not much else to compare to from mistobox yet, but it was a good cup of coffee. I do appreciate that it was a Colorado roaster that is local to us. That is definitely of interest to our household.
I've made 2 cups so far, I really like this coffee. Smooth, juicy fruit flavors. This is not a flavored coffee though as someone else said in their review. It is a sweeter coffee. I really love this, now I understand all the postive reviews. I would order this kind again too. I love Mistobox, glad I found this great website. I love amazing coffee and it's all in one spot! Coffee brings me so much comfort every morning, I can't live without!
Super fantastic! This is exactly what I'm looking for in a coffee. Very fruit forward and bright.
Excellent coffee! Loved the bright and fruity flavors here!
Went out on a “limb” trying this one. Ended up going about how I thought it would. Not a bad cup of coffee, just too acidic and sweet for my tastes. It was cool for the first cup or 2, but after that it got old.
Overnight guests enjoyed the pleasures of this roast with us. From the amazing aroma from the beans (yes, we truly passed the bag between us to enjoy the different notes) to the bright & balanced brew to start the day. Sheer delight!
Please send again.
I really enjoyed this - but I'd had it before, so I knew that I would. It's a testament to Huckleberry's consistency that I've enjoyed it this much every time.
very good- fruit forward, ethiopian blend, incredible aroma
Excellent cup of coffee. Juicy and smooth. My favorite characteristic of Ethiopian coffees.
I want this coffe again! I loved it!!
One of my favorite blends!!
Strong berry notes as you'd expect from an African blend. Finishes semi-sweet chocolate which was a bit of a surprise. Very enjoyable.
Very fruity, but slightly too acidic for my taste.
Delicious and fruit forward. Mazzer grind setting 8.9
A bit too acidic for my taste. Not a big fan of fruity and citrus flavors either but wanted to try something different.
It really tasted like huckleberry. A bit acidic but really good.
Amazing cup subtle sweetness and very smooth
Very good blend of Ethiopian coffees. Bright, slight citrus acidity, dark berries.
Great coffee for those who don't like dark roasted coffee
This is a fantastic coffee! I've had others from this company and it does not disappoint. The fruit smell actually wafted over me as soon as the box was opened! The tasting description is spot on, citrus smell and acidic zing, fruity flavors with a subtle but quite distinct chocolate finish. This is one of the best coffees I've had. I'd be happy drinking this daily for years. Would rate 6 stars if possible.
The fruity notes were spot on! We loved this blend
Juicy taste with lots of berry and floral. Medium mouthfeel. I prefer a darker, richer coffee but this is still quite good. If you really like a medium coffee with lots of fruity flavors, this is the coffee for you!
Fruity, citrus, not my favorite.
Always love anything described as bright, and the floral components in this coffee are wonderful
Yikes. I woke up for a cup of coffee, not a cup of hot and tart fruit salad.
Really enjoying this roast. Easy and consistent in my v60.
Best coffee I've had in 3 years!
Overall a good coffee and I liked the brightness and citrus notes
I love this one,I wouldn't mind a little more cocoa finish. But it is great.
Pretty light. Berry fruit taste. Like blueberry
Bright and clean with great balance between acidity and cocoa notes. Citrus up front with strawberry in the middle and earthy notes for the finish.
I used to buy this from my local shop. This is always a good coffee and a great roaster!
The best coffee so far from Mistobox. My batch of Phantom Limb Blend is light and fruity of blueberries at the front, but has a light taste of dark chocolate on the finish. Very good!
Really vibrant and bright. The citrus notes really jump out in this blend to make a unique, perfect cup of coffee. There's a sweetness to it that lasts on the tongue.
Phantom Limb Blend lives up to its promise: accessible, balanced, and fruit-forward. Milk chocolate conveyed on a medium body is balanced with keen yet soft notes of watermelon and strawberry making it both (relatively) approachable for the casual sipper and rewarding for the connoisseur. It's listed berry flavors are intended to "shine with milk or without." I tried a pour over with cream, and the result is amazing. Cream doesn't augment the quality, or diminish it; it takes it to another dimension. With milk it is its own new animal, delightful and rollicking. Specialty coffee house blend indeed. It rocks as a doppio espresso, highlighting the same qualities that shine as a drip. But as a latte the flavors kind of disappear in the milk, resulting in a beverage more akin to a flavored steamer than a latte.
Huckleberry is soon becoming my new favorite roaster! I received this and two others from a friend around the same time and am just blown away at the quality. The flavor profiles are amazing!
Good easy drinking coffee. Brewerd many different ways this coffee was still lacking complexity or much dimension.
My favorite yet. Just bright enough to make the tastebuds say wow. Love the berries.
Wowza! A super bright and "berry" sweet coffee. This Ethiopian version of Phantom Limb Blend is the definition of why I love Ethiopian coffees.
I got a lot of caramel on the flavor and it was very approachable and bright. Good flavors. I think it might have been a 5 if it had a slight bit more bite to it. Maybe I would like something with a touch more roast? Not sure.
Had a grassy quality which was nice at first, but became too strong by the end of the cup.
