This is the Tanzania Ngila Estate brought to you by Populace Coffee. This offering comes from the Ngila Coffee Estate, which is located at 1,600 masl near the Ngorongoro Crater. This estate has 150,000 coffee trees and grows many varieties of coffee in the rich, volcanic soil, including Typica, Bourbon, SL28, Pacamara and Geisha. This coffee is fully washed after a 12 hour underwater fermentation. It is clean and vibrant, with notes of grapefruit, raisin, and cane sugar.
Mouthwatering acidity more like an apricot than grapefruit. Slight sweet muesli flavor (almond and raisin mostly).
Good fruitiness. Had a bit a of sharp edge that detracted, but all in all one of the better I've had in a while.
Rather acidic for the flavor palette. Not a big fan
I loved the citrus and then the sweet after that from the raisin.
Smooth and creamy, but notes a little subdued
Excellent cup of coffee! Very acidic but not in a bad way :)
A little too much fruit notes.
Definitely smells like grapefruit, and golden raisin. Light body and bright acidity, almost like a lemon/grapefruit tartness that lingers in the aftertaste. Almost too tart. The sweetness of raisin is a nice undertone. Good iced brew as well.
