This is the Ethiopia Chelba Natural brought to you by Cat & Cloud Coffee. Grown by the small holder producers in the Yirgacheffe region at 1,700 - 2,000 meters, this naturally processed coffee is a perfect example of why we love coffees from Ethiopia. This coffee is lighter in body and is particularly juicy with notes of blueberry, port wine and semi-sweet chocolate.
Comandante 27 click, natural Hario non-tab paper, 02 V60, 92°C, 20g 300mL, semi continuous pour completed at 3'30". TDS 1.275%, extraction 19%. 2 day old beans
I was expecting a lot of blueberry note from a Yirgacheffe natural. When I ground the beans, I know something is off because it doesn't smell of juicy fruit, but more roast character.
I'm fairly disappointed at my first shipment from MistoBox. This reminds me of Three Africas from Blue Bottle, which is nice, but quite boring. MEH is the right rating for this particular roast.
Hands down, one of the best coffees I've ever had. Love that incredible blueberry top note and tangerine acidity!
Good crema, enjoying a smooth bold latte.
Best coffee ever
Possibly the best Yirgacheffe I've had in some time if not ever. Great blueberry and dark chocolate flavor with some inherent sweetness. I would highly consider this one again.
not as vibrant as Id have haoped
Just a little thin but very good. More
Fruit and juicy than chocolate
Great for pour Chemex and Japanese ice pour over!
I usually love an Ethiopia and this was really hyped. Don't know why it didn't quite do it for me. I didn't get that juicy taste I was expecting, and the notes stayed flat. Might be my brewing was out of practice - switched to V60 for this bag.
A lighter roast that has a great balance of flavors. I really enjoyed the blueberry notes. would buy again
This might have been the worst coffee i've had in a while. Making me second guess misto box..... :(
Dave & Beth
Bright blueberry aromas with fruity, tangy, and even slightly chocolatey flavors. Awesome for pour-over!
Super tasty with all the juiciness one could hope for.
I think it's very tasty! There's something fruity that comes through and also something sweet and mellow (the chocolate)? It's very dessertlike
Very pleasant, easy drinking natural processed Ethiopian coffee! The blueberry notes are there, but more subtle, and are well-balanced by a milk chocolate sweetness.
No longer interested in this roaster.
Really enjoyed this coffee, the blueberry really popped. Liked it in my Kalita more than the V60, really complimented the body and fullness of the coffee.
bitter aftertaste, more than a regular Ethiopian yurg
This coffee is amazing. Definitely has hints of blueberry and is otherwise a pretty balanced coffee.
Best coffee I’ve tried yet from this club!
Right now probably a 4.5 when made with a kalita, 3.5 off of an aeropress. Full flavors appear when made by Kalita with the chocolate and blueberry/fruit flavor combining well.
Fully of berry aroma, juicy, acidic. Didn't quite get the chocolate smell but that should depend on the way I brew. A slight bitter flavor.
Grinder: virtuoso scale 20
42g water and wait 25 seconds.
Add water to 210g and let it drain
Add water again to 330g and serve.
An excellent coffee for those seeking pungent fruit scents and dark chocolate flavors. Also a very forgiving brew.
Just “ok.” Not really picking up the described tasting notes and not one of the better Yirgacheffes I’ve had.
Great solid coffee. Felt well balanced, but not as exceptional as a lot of Cat and Cloud's I've had.
This coffee is seriously phenomenal. Easy to dial in on espresso, super bright and fruity (and acidic) Ethiopian. Great on V60 too.
Nice and light. Took a tiny bit of grind adjustment to figure it out but the lower range for brew method created beautiful flavors.
Wonderful flavor! Loved the smooth taste...Perfect combination of fruit and chocolate. Prefer this coffee blend over the first.
A little too much acidity on first sip, but once it cools off a little the fruity flavors become more evident.
This coffee didn't have a lot to offer flavor-wise. It had almost a burnt flavor to it. Not bad, but not great.
I could not feel any acidity not fruity notes
This was a very balanced cup of coffee. It had strong cherry and chocolate notes. I tend to find yirgacheffe’s to be a little over-powering but this finished incredibly smooth and was quite enjoyable.
Meh. Just not my fav.
Notes of blueberry, stone fruit with a chocolate finish. Less thick/syrupy than other Ethiopians. Fantastic.
Super acidic and not enjoyable
Best coffee I've had so far, heavy on the blueberry flavor. Brewed in a Clever
This is in the top 2-3 coffees we have tried out of the last year with MistoBox. Truly an excellent coffee with citrus and berry flavor bursting through in every sip.
Best flavor profile and brewing results so far. Excellent coffee, and great name!
Best coffee ever.
Wow! This ties Onyx's Bensa Shantawene Natural for our favorite natural Ethiopian. Beans have strong blackberry jam scent. Coffee is lighter, versus some more syrupy natural Ethiopias. Super clean finish with lingering balanced sweetness and tartness.
Nicely prevalent notes of berry - enjoyed making this cup in my new Chemex.
Well roasted with excellent fruity notes.
Nicely balanced. Could be a bit lighter on the flavor profile but this is a perfect bag for the rainy fall.
