This is the Sumatra Mutu Batak brought to you by Klatch Coffee Roasting. The Sumatra Lintong Mutu Batak comes from selected producers surrounding the town of Lintongnihuta in the Provinsi Sumatera Utara (Northern Sumatra Province). This specific area is located on the southern shores of Lake Toba, which is the largest volcanic lake in the world. This Sumatran coffee has flavor notes of cacao, cedar, bell pepper, and lavender. A cup that is very clean and balanced while still providing the body one expects from Indonesia.

When they say bell pepper, they mean Bell Pepper! Would probably be good with a tex-mex omelette or another spicy breakfast... Just not quite to our tastes for the morning cup.

Honestly, I saw Sumatra and I instantly thought, "wtf." But it turned out to be one of the most interesting coffees I've ever had. Really good!

Pretty bold; unsure about the bite in the lingering tastes afterwards, but still a fairly average cuppa for us.

Interesting profile. The bell pepper and cedar really come through. I'm happy I tried it but I think It's a bit too unique for an everyday coffee for me.

Brewed with V60. Uniquely earthy and complex. Very prominent red pepper taste. Jog memories of eating Tempeh which is a fermented soybean. Reminds me of Indonesian/Malay food. While interesting, can get tiring after a while.
