This is the Ethiopia Zelelu brought to you by Huckleberry Roasters. Grown by the Zelelu Ararso and Kasech Zelelu in the Yirgacheffe region at 1,950 meters, this fully washed coffee is a perfect example of why we love coffees from Ethiopia. We love this coffee brewed as a pour over, like the Chemex or V60, to highlight its nuanced notes of key lime acidity, honey-like sweetness and floral aroma.
This is an excellent coffee. Brewed with a chemex, it's light, but complex. Lots of honeysuckle on the nose and clean acidity in the taste.
I enjoyed drinking this coffee. I thought the flavor notes were spot on. Strong flavor notes of lime, fruity notes, with a sweet finish. The lime wasn't too acidic like other coffees with citrus in them. I felt that with the sweet finish it helped balance the cup.
What a beautiful complex cup! Light, mildy juicy, yet playful on the palate. This cups hits your palate from the front to back like a sensual lover. It has a very elegant, soft and silky mouthfeel. Beautiful florals present themselves as you brew. This coffee has a key lime brightness/overtone, but balances with a honey sweetness, and a melon sherbert softness.
This coffee was delicious. It was all the description gave and more. It not overly fruity but nice fruit. It was great in a Chemex.
Solid - I'm giving up on my Kalita wave for daily use.. the mornings are getting shorter and shorter before I have to run out. Just got an OXO 9 Cup so I can't fairly review this yet but so far the results have been promising.
This coffee is fabulous. A bit more subtle than the last one, with more of a thick honey flavor. Love it.
A very smooth, mildly sweet Ethiopian. A touch more sweetness would've earned 4 stars but still a very good, clean coffee. Some citrus acidity but not very tart at all (smooth). I liked it best on the chemex and aeropress.
Clean and complex. Nice bean. Nice roast. Easy 5er.
Ethiopian coffees can sometimes run a bit too tea-like for me, but I've enjoyed this one quite a lot and feel lucky to have tried it. Would have likely never ordered it!
A really solid Ethiopian offering from Huckleberry. I liked the balance of citrus and sweetness.
It's good, not mind blowing, but a solid and balanced cup on both v60 and chemex.
I didn't taste the grape jam. This coffee wasn't sweet. I have never tasted lavender so had no point of comparison. My wife thinks she detects hints of citrus.
Still tinkering with the brew, but it has not come out great. The aroma is amazing, but the brew is just not quite there.
Another delicious Ethiopian!!! My wife says it might be her favorite.
More like 3.5. It wasn't terrible, just a little on the sour side and possibly too delicate.
